Worldwide Tiguan future sales logic is as follows, it is complicated:
Tiguan for EU (5-seater), built in Wolfsburg, Germany.
Tayron for EU (7-seater), built in Wolfsburg.
Tayron for China (5-seater), built in China.
Tiguan for US (5-seater) is basically a modified Tayron without additional seats and built in Mexico.
We are keeping u updated and will also present the US Tiguan as soon as possible.

You are one of the best car reviewer out there. You are not just giving pure information you are educating and explaining as well, like drag coefficient and air in the back of the car which is pulling car, amazing info.

“Sorry for that spontaneous burst of rage” It’s ok, man.

I waited 2 months for this video test! I ordered a new Tiguan in December (without a test drive) and wanted to know how the DCC Pro would react. Apparently it was a good choice to include this in the options list. Thanks for this clear test Thomas!

I am a bit irritated when only gully spec cars are given to review. When most people can only afford the lower or middle spec cars. What we see here is a dream.

Thanks Thomas 🙏🏻

I would have loved to see a Tiguan EV version. I find the exterior more attractive than the ID.4.

16:40 To be more precise, the box I touch is the fuel tank that has been moved there in the PHEV version, and underneath that box is the high voltage battery

Hard plastic on the rear doors isn’t great considering the price and class of car

Unless that screen has a Netflix app built in, there is no reason for it to be 15", wtf is with these iPads glued to car dashboards these days

I definetly prefer the design of the mk2 facelifted one, this one is a lot less aggressive looking and the interior is just 😖.

PHEVs could be a good solution for some people, but automakers view them only as “compliance” vehicles, which means they perform poorly, have lot of defects, have high consumption both in electric mode and in combustion mode at highway speeds (when you’d need the engine). A good PHEV which consumes less than 16Wh/km in EV mode and can do more than 15 km/l at highway speeds (130km/h) would be an excellent car. But no one makes it. All PHEVs are shit.

Thomas is absolutely the best car reviewer out there. This is the absolute best review of the new Tiguan. Super informative. We were scheduled to replace wifey’s 2014 BMW X3 in late summer when the 2025’s come out. We were looking only at the Honda CRV, but now the 2025 VW Tiguan looks most promising. Design and engineering of the new Tiguan looks awesome. I had a VW ID4 on order. But when it arrived the design and software was awful so I rejected it after waiting 6 months. I am glad that VW returned to its traditional, well executed design rather than rounded lumpy awful aesthetic of the ID4. Kudos to VW. Is the new Passat coming back to the US? I hope so.
