It's like sleep paralysis. You're fully aware and _theoretically_ should be able to get up at any time. You just... can't.

brain: "school's in 5 minutes, get up"
body: "no"

Bro the funny thing is that I found this video when I was going through ADHD paralysis and this is the only reason I got up and took out the trash.
Thanks bro for unconditional helping me😂

I do not have adhd, but I have had this happen to me. The worst part is that you are freaking out because there is a deadline you need to meet.

I'm not sure whether I love feeling seen and understood by this channel or hate being called out.

ADHD Paralysis is like telling someone without adhd to touch a hot burner. Theres nothing stopping them but their brain just will not let them.
That’s how I explained it to my mom and I swear it made way more sense to her after that lol

Mad editing skills dude. You nail the inner dialogue every time. Now please get out of my head.

started watching this channel like, a year ago.

in june last year, i was diagnosed with adhd. this channel really helped realise i need to fight to be taken seriously and tell the psychologist *everything* i used to think was normal that actually isnt.

thank you :)

Testing for ADHD needs to be done mandatorily at a young age. Gives kids and parents the opportunity ta get a hold of the situation early instead of finding out later in life and suffering. Also prevents all these social media "influencers" from self diagnosing themselves. There is no way to find a "cure" for it, just need to find coping mechanisms and hard work to notice when its kicked in.

Yeah ADHD paralysis really IS lazy’s evil twin brother. For me it happens when I play anything that might go on for a while or sit/lay down. This is not helped by my not having a good sense of time at all

Sitting down is always my downfall! I just end up sitting down, zone out, looking around the room thinking about what needs to be done, how I should start, and what to do next. I'm pretty much imagining myself cleaning while staring into space.

As a heavily medicated ADHD kid (14) it makes me feel good that there is somebody out there that understands that ADHD is real and not an excuse for things (yes this really happened with one of my teachers) and every ADHD video I watch I can relate to almost everything lol

For me, it sometimes helps to do something small, like wiggling my toes or my fingers. And slowly working up to moving my whole body 😊

"Lazy" is such a trigger word for a lot of people with ADHD. I'm with that group of many people.
