In this video I explain the importance of refining your leg aids & how important it is that our legs can yield different body parts, they don't just mean "go."

Yup. Those cues can get so refined on a sensitive horse. My former chestnut mare would react to the slightest change in leg position and ounces of pressure. So much fun😊

I prescribed to his channel and I asked for help so many times. I lost my right leg and I needed advice on a few things he never answered. But thank God people read the comments and people reached out to me and gave me help. Thank you all

Working on this with my mare and let me tell you it really only takes maybe 3-4 weeks consistent training to get the cue engrained, I could go into detail but long story short when she gets anxious she gets fast, but getting fast makes her more anxious, in her mind ANY leg used to mean go fast, but after maybe a month of consistent training and not releasing the pressure when she moved forwards I now have a horse who’ll yield off leg only and turn beautifully with out rein

Can refine a horse better and they learn quicker if you teach these points on the ground first

Thank you Ryan. So when he steps forward do you keep the leg on until he turns?

Ha ...I literally just did that on my young mule. Totally aborted the mission of getting him to step over to the gate cuz he went forward. Glad they can forgive and learn when we get our sht together. 😂😂

I hate seeing spurs. They are so unnecessary if you school your horse properly.

Why are you using swivel spurs?? This is clearly abuse
