I love how he refuses to let any harm come to his wife.

When he close the elevator's door, total chills run through my neck. Sooo cool. Definitely one of the top fight scene lists ever created. So smooth

Ip Man didn't even roll up his sleeves, he was just playing around with this guy.

The look on her face at 0:55 says it all... she never understood why he always had to fight but that elevator scene let her know that he had no choice.

I like the fact Ip got more aggressive as the guy’s attacks kept getting close to his wife.

One of the best movie scenes I've ever seen the 1st time I watched it. Besides the awesome chereography fighting in a closed space in the elevator, the awesome shots and motions moving around the staircases, it showed the most important value of the character- IP Man as an honourable man: duty and protecting his family (wife) from harm. That's really what gave part 2 so much character depth and amazing movie plot 💯

This is one of my most favourite IP Man fight scene. You can feel the emotions running thru him, normally his skills Wing Chun is defensive but with his wife potentially in danger IP Man didn’t held back. He went offensive genuinely wanting to hurt the guy. Great acting by Donnie

That overhead camera view is amazing. This entire scene was epic.

If you pay very close attention to all of the choreography and even the very subtle movements of this incredibly layered fight sequence, it's clear to see that this is one of the very best fight scenes in a movie, ever filmed. This right here is a piece of Art!! Simply incredible.

During the 50s/60s, the elevator is so slow that walking down the stairways is a much faster option.

1:23 loved this little detail here where he tilts his feet. This is a technique used in East asian martial arts to get more balance

I wasn’t even aware of this movie until last year. There are so many layers to how great this scene is. Absolutely love it!

I love this scene. It shows that he has dealt with brute force fighters and can easily deflect their movements and leave them open for a counterattack

Fighting in tight space is difficult. Like how he protected his wife!

What I like about this scene at :55 is how the Muy Thai guy gets pushed out of the elevator and instinctively and naturally gets into a recovery and defensive position, quickly turning around ready to engage.
