A British actor playing an American character speaking the English language in a Chinese movie with Russian dubbing accompanied by English subtitles. What a trip

This is so fitting because honestly Scott & Donnie are really the last two keeping the Martial Art Action genre alive.

You don't get up and go until this great final fight ends, the Ip Man saga just surpasses itself every movie after the other! Mad respect for Donnie Yen and Scott Adkins!!

I am absolutely amazed how Scott can play either good guy or bad guy and we still love him regardless...

Great scene, but sad to learn IP Man became blind and Sargent Geddes couldn't stop eating donuts.

I was in a street fight about 2 years ago with a dude the size of Scott Adkins, luckily my 4 years of intense Wing Chun training came in very handy, it got me 6 weeks of free hospital food & the company of some beautiful nurses.

Lets just be clear, Donnie was 57 at the time of this movie, can we all appreciate how he still kicks this much ass even at that age please!!!!....(Yes I know he had a stunt double for some of the fight but still, dude is a BEAST!!!!)....

The best combat is in the first movie, where Donnie fights against ten soldiers...

Craziest part of the fight was getting flipped over and Donnie with that “SIT THE FUCK DOWN” Kick to the back !!!! Insane emotion in that moment.

probably one of the best matchups i've seen. scott adkins is an amazing taekwondo fighter vs. donnie yen (an amazing wing chun master). they were solid adversaries in this film.

Don't think many realised this but this fight actually mirrors the previous fight with the Master Wan.

During the previous fight, when Master Wan realised that Ip Mann has been injured, he actually showed his grace and level the playing field by only using one hand. In contrast, the fight with the sergeant, when he realised this, he not only didn't do what Master Wan did but he even exploited Ip Mann injury.

But what's even more interesting, is that when Ip Mann partially incapacitated the sergeant by injuring his eyes, you will notice there are a few short moves that Ip Mann actually gave the sergeant a chance by only using one hand to fight (and showing his grace by levelling the playing field). But the sergeant still went with full force on Ip Mann, thus angering him to deliver the crushing blows in the end.

Mind you, Ip Mann rarely goes full force in any of his previous fights (save for the first Ip Mann movie with the Japanese Black Belts for killing his friend).

It's very interesting how they told a story through this fight showing layers to this movie.

A round of applause for the designer and chorographer of the fight sequence.

Donnie Yen's character, not a young man, suffering from cancer and in no way 100% fighting a very tough, younger opponent who had already destroyed the best was very well done. We are used to seeing him excel but this was another level considering his physical state and what he'd already been through while dealing with long term injuries. Well done.
