Darren Shahlavi is an amazing actor. It's unfortunate he's not with us anymore. This will be one of the best work he's had in his career.

Believe it or not, these two guys were actually buddies in real life, they first met in the 90's, Donnie described him as shy at first, and they stayed friends till the day Darren died

Darren Shahlavi was an amazing martial artist and actor, I was saddened he died so young with his career just taking off rest in peace Darren.

The polar opposite of a Rocky Balboa fight. Ip Man only gets hit a few times but it looks like those hits really messed him up, whereas Rocky would just block everything with his face.

I like how he used his friends techniques at the end to defeat him. It was as if he was saying that he was right and if it was a fair and honorable fight he wouldn’t have lost. Respect

A nod of the head to Darren Shahlavi...AMAZING physique and an absolute gentleman. He played a loathsome arrogant character so well, which was the total opposite of who he was. He died young which was very unfair. He dedicated his life to martial arts and fitness. Life can be spectacularly unfair sometimes....

One thing I love about this fight is how accurately it portrays absolutely mastered Eastern Martial Arts against "just really good" Western martial arts. Man strikes Twister like 20x more than Twister hits Man, but Man just *doesn't* have the physical strength necessary to take down someone who is both a palace of muscle and has mastered taking much more powerful hits until he breaks him down until he's able to land countless consecutive punches directly on his face. It visibly took SO MUCH for Man to win this fight. Anyone even *slightly* worse than Ip Man wouldn't be able to do it. And that's just the kind of thing you see in actual East VS West fights. The Eastern fighter is firing off machine gun blows which just bounce off of the boxer/MMA guy, but the boxer/MMA guy just throws a punch with power that nobody in Eastern martial arts has ever encountered and they just eat it.

Fuckin' love this fight.

Easily his toughest fight and greatest victory out of all 4 Ip man movies. Honorable mention to the Mike Tyson fight, too.

Incredibly beautiful acting by Donnie Yen in the midst of such brutality. Keep in mind, whomever directed and edited this film are also masters of their craft to evoke such deep emotion. It is far more than “just a fight.”

Towards the end, he had to change his style of wing Chun and had to use the other masters moves into his own style to win. I believe that is one of the big importance in martial arts. Adaptation and use every move/experience you can to defeat your opponent.

Seeing Ipman overcome his fights with ease was amazing. Seeing him overcoming his fights with struggle is even more amazing. Because it really puts things into perspective when it comes to fighting. Dude is straight up boxing ipman and holding out.

Personally, of all the ip man movies, I love this one more just because of the fight scenes that are epic, but also because of the plot, simply spectacular.

you can tell ip man fights with respect. he makes sure he doesn't accidentally overdo it and kill his opponent and lets the opponent time to recover. this is why darren had the upper hand in the first half.

Twister literally throws a haymaker after the bell is rung.
Referee: "Stop cheating, Ip Man!"

Gotta be the most intense fight scene in the movie I've ever watch. I think I held my breath multiple of times the first time I watched it.
Really love Darren's acting to the point I remember his name. RIP, Darren Shahlevi.

Loved the movie just never understood why Darren had to wear gloves when Donnie was bare knuckle 😂 and kicking was prohibited 😂😂

That's one of the best fighting scene ever filmed for a movie.

its not the fight that makes this scene great. its the director's skill to make this touchy scene, more emotional scene.
