What an important important video. I read so often that low fat diets don’t work. But all these so-called low fat studies aren’t about a truly low-fat diet. I wish all these studies weren’t behind a paywall so they’d be available for everyone to read and see with their own eyes. Robby and Cyrus, thank you for this and being so crysral clear.

My buddy who I tried to convince to change to WFPB low fat diet says….”For decades doctors prescribed a low fat diet for diabetics and almost no one improved. Unless you’re willing to constantly deal with hunger, severely restricting fat will guarantee a higher carb intake. Doctors only recently have started to warm to the idea that low carb diets work well for reversing type 2 diabetes and there have been lots of success stories with it.

How do I rebuke him?

Both work. Stop all this unnecessary war and bickering. The enemy is ultra processed foods. Pick the approach can adhere to

You can eat more than 30 grams of fat if you are still eating 15% or less of your calories from fat, can't you? If you eat 1500 calories of quinoa and 1500 calories of garbanzo beans in one day, that is 48 grams of fat, but only 14% of the calories come from total fat, and only 1.6% of the calories come from saturated fat. Isn't that 48 grams of fat ok if someone eats 3000 calories in one day?

In your opinion, which of these two diets is healthier?
1. A whole foods plant based diet, but about 5% of the diet is fish or lean poultry, and the diet is 5-10% calories from fat, or 2. A whole foods 100% vegan diet, but 30-60% of the calories come from fat?
