A minute ago that woman psychic tormented you and then turned into crystal whilst showing super levels of agility and strength.

This is one of the best scenes of the series. It’s incredible writing that their first meeting is Charles saving Erik not just literally, but also figuratively, from his loneliness and despair, offering Erik a kindness and empathy that Erik has never known before. Even in their very first interaction, it becomes immediately clear how a bitter and mistrusting person like Erik grew to love Charles so much.

Imagine if Erik just used his power to rip open a hole in the sub, or break the propeller. Much easier than dragging the entire thing out of the ocean. Also more likely to kill Shaw with drowning him unless his teleporter was in there with him.

The way charles orders eric to calm his mind when they pop out of the water is just touching as hell. You can tell that even though they have just met charels has found his soul mate

It’s insane how quickly Charles is able to coax Eric to let go. Even while being communicated telepathically, getting grabbed, the person knowing his name, he was willing to hold on until he heard Charles knowledge of Eric’s history. That would leave an impression on you that would last forever, and it’s instantly clear to Eric that Charles is absurdly powerful.

I like how Emma and the other guy immediately flipping switches and setting up the sub implies that Shaw had to have organized training for them on how to operate a Submarine.

Like it's not like they can pick that shit up as they go or would have been trained before - it's not like they were in the Navy before discovering their powers - which means Shaw would have had to have *specifically* brought people in to train them how to operate a submarine probably with classes and homework and everything.

A noble gesture on Charles' part here. Had he not communicated with Erik, he would have died, and that filth Shaw would be allowed to live on unchallenged.
However - Charles should not have interfered in Erik's just cause of destroying Shaw later.

The submarine is actually really good writing. It's the one vehicle at this point that could've stopped a young Magneto.
If it was a car or a plane they'd be screwed, but here he didn't master his skills enough to lift something as a big as a sub and the water was a big problem.

The fact that Erik using his powers put him into so much mental pain that Charles, who was not actively using his powers at that time, could feel it and jumped over board to save him 😢 Also Erik knew there are other mutants, he knew about Shaw and his soldiers, he wasn't talking about being a mutant, he's was talking about being alone against the world. That no one would ever see him as someone worth saving.

MCU will never make a very good superhero movie like this one! Love this movie because it is the first X Men movie that didn't revolve around Wolverine all the time. It was a great prequel about Professor X and Magneto and they did such an mighty fine job with it
