*81: PAKISTAN'S REACTION & J&K'S DEVELOPMENT*
Pakistan's actions & World's reaction:
- Downgrade diplomatic ties with India and suspend bilateral trade, asking India to withdraw its envoy to Pakistan in retaliation.
- Pakistan trying to internationalise the issue.
- Hurt their trade: textiles industry - 65% workforce - Cotton imports form India.
- Raise the issue of India integrating Kashmir more closely with itself at the UN.
- Will raise some issue of human rights violation in J&K.
- The US, UAE and some other countries have backed India’s position that the move to designate Kashmir as a Union territory was an internal matter.
- UN Security Council: won't pay attention due to Pakistan's painted picture of terrorism.
- US -China Trade war tensions, Japan - S. Korea issue, Brexit for Europe - World is grappled with other important problems - Pakistan Cornered.

Article 370 & 35A:
- UT is temporary and once the prosperity kicks in it can be converted to a state.
- Article 370 & 35A - used to propagate anti national sentiments by Pakistan

- People who do scavenging, Dalit atrocities - laws not applied in J&K earlier. - Valmiki's for Sanitary works.
- Thousands who have come across the border - can vote for LS but not legislative
- Economic prosperity was a hindrance.
- Gender disparity - no rights to women married outside.

Benefits of revoking:
- Restructuring - opens the floodgates for economy.
- Empower people.
- Immense potential of solar power.

Way Forward:
- Visible development soon in Kashmir.
- Invest in Infrastructure - transport, water, electricity.
- Vigilant borders.
- Urban centres
- Public sector investment and then paving way for private sector - SEZ.

- Crackdown on corruption.

Government should portray as caring & improve efficiency in terms of delivery of services to put J&K and Ladakh on the path of development & restore confidence of all the people.
