The Big Picture - Article 370: The Debate

It has been one week to the day, since the BJP and PDP alliance broke in Jammu and Kashmir. Ever since last Tuesday, there have been debates on whether Article 370 which grants special status to the state, should be revoked or not? The promise when it was formulated that Article 370 was a temporary provision and will get eroded over a period of time has turned out to be an illusion. Article 370, included in the Constitution on a temporary provision should have been gradually abrogated. This has not happened in nearly 70 years. The basic questions that arise are why should a state of Indian Union have a special status? And is article 370 the cause for Jammu and Kashmir’s present state? On this edition of ‘The Big Picture’ we will take a closer look at Article 370.

Mr Sushil pandit you are absolutely right in quoting that presidential proclamation is needed to dissolve the article but I would like to extend it " article 370 can be dissolved by president only with the consent of state assembly"
So it is far more important to have a state assembly in order to have discussions on it

We need to emphasize on the implementation as it will certainly help in changing the scenario.

As a kashmiri my suggestion is that We should not Over emphasised on Article 370. It is not responsible for current situation of J&K, its Pakistan who act as a Big fish to destabilise the Kashmir.India Must look vigilantly on Pakistan base terrorism.
Bit Biased Bcz Kashmiri perspective was missing (Kashmiri penaliset was missing) these are the thing we should focus NOT Ignored.
