Will using an inversion table make me taller? I use inversion therapy to try to gain real height. Does it work? You may be surprised!

Getting taller is more about restoring lost height. At age 22, I was 6'1". Many years later I had shrunk down to 5'11". After a few years of using an inversion table, I was able to restore my height back to 6'1". Years of accumulated compression flatten intervertebral discs and they begin to dry out. Inversion stretches you out and allows the discs to rehydrate and gain thickness back. If you stop for any length of time you will lose it all over.

Can U make a video of "How to fly in 5 minutes"?

I love my inverse table. I’m 6’2 & 3/4” and don’t care to get taller, but it has helped my back from 16 years of pain from lifting a 1950s fridge. Doing abs workouts on it is amazing.

I had been 6' since I was 15 and last year I had herniated discs ( I am 46 now). This year I started physical therapy and my trainer had me do a lot of stretching (on the floor) and somehow I grew to 6'1" !!! My trainer told me that I was probably always 6'1" but had very bad posture all my life

After a month of about 5 minutes a night I can attest that I grew or straightened out 3/4" to my high school height of 6'. I'm 52 and had/have a compressed disc and slight scoloisis I'm not sure if the disc opened up but it definitely straighted me out. I haven't been on table for at least 6 months and just measured and i shrunk back to 5'11 1/4" height. I've learned not to get on table if I'm sore or lower back is hurting. I do feel better when using and can't remember why u stopped

In my opinion, if you’re decompressing your spine, it would help to also work on your cartilage because that is what keeps your spine separated - the sponginess in-between each vertebrate. So maybe a good cartilage supplement would help to keep the height sustained.

you have become so good at researching and coming up with results that feel fairly scientific for some ideas that are at times pretty far out there. It's crazy to see how far your channel has come from those little skits you used to do with the kid and his brother and just randomly having some fitness and flipping, it feels a lot more like you've found your rhythm/calling at least for what you want to do in this part of your life.

I do it for 15 to 20 no problem.. but you definitely have to get used to it. The ankle pain goes away after a while. You're literally reversing gravity on your body, it will take time to get used to it. I've been doing it for years, never really thought of measuring myself, but it has helped my back pain a bunch! I'm only 32 so I'm very thankful for inversion tables

Love all the research in this video. Good stuff!

this is the territory that comes with your few days testing format. these kinds of therapy and hieght growth in general is a long term thing and was never something meant to be rushed man. Realistically though if you feel uneasy going from inversion the best scenario is you are able to get off of the inversion table and onto a bed to lay flat and maybe even take a bit of a nap before getting back up.

I had a ruptured disk, between my L4-L5, and I can tell you this table saved me from surgery, after I started using it I've never experienced lower back pain, and I was out of work for a month because of the rupture...

You can grow 2-3" depending on individual case. You're not actually growing taller, but uncompressing the space between the spine vertebrae. This is the same effect that happens to astronauts in space. When they return to earth they quickly go back to their original height. Same with this table. Unless you're constantly using it, you will just return to your normal height.

Keep in mind this isn't a video on inversion therapy. He did a number of things wrong, but his goal wasn't to teach it was to entertain. So do your own basic research if you are interested in inversion therapy. I have two herniated discs, had surgery, tried stuff that didn't work. About 15 yrs ago I bought a inversion table and when I screw up my back, I go straight to the table and eventually, sometimes in one session, it will "pop" my back into alignment and my pain is gone. Inversion therapy isn't just stretching the back, it's also about forcing blood circulation and to do that you are supposed to periodically come up slowly, then go back inverted. That circulation has helped in other areas of the body as well; like alleviating my shoulder pain. If I had to guess, his back discomfort was from coming up from inversion improperly.

I have been inverting for decades after an episode of lower back pain/spasm. Beginner advice: the original Teeter Hang-up is solid, well-designed, and still 100% so buy quality. Adjust height so control with raising arms overhead. Use lock out strap to prevent full inversion until acclimated. Wear thick socks and smooth top shoes to ease ankle/top of foot pressure. Work up to full inversion and increase time from 1-2 minutes to 5 minutes. Not much benefit beyond 5 minutes. Pause at horizontal 20 seconds when coming out of inversion to equilize blood pressure. Keep face forward when transitioning to prevent otolith inner ear problems. Do not use when in acute back pain/spasm as it is best used for prevention.

If there were a way to retain more moisture in your actual disks and make them more resilient against gravity. If that were possible, you wouldn't necessarily gain overall height, but you would get and stay closer to your max possible height, as well as having just a way better back.

Maybe exercising while increasing the force of gravity on your spine with added weight followed by bodyweight inversion (and you could even throw in a killer core workout after just hanging there if you wanted but that's unrelated) with a focus on proper hydration could make your disks more resilient throughout the day leading to not necessarily being taller overall but staying taller for longer

Advanced tips for when you achieve full inversion of 5 minutes (from a former back pain sufferer who has used inversion for decades): put palms on ears to add stretch to cervical spine, mild 1-2" fishtailing and porpoising to help back stretch, diminishing benefit past 5 minutes, pause horizontal on way up to prevent lightheadedness, make sure pockets empty especially cell phone, ha ha ha! Caution: can make acute back spasm worse, so best for pain free prevention. Very good after exercises that compress the spine. Painless popping could be facet joints, but could also indicate vacuum disc when air is sucked into disc space (older guys with degenerative disc disease). Since most men have lower back pain sometime in their lives, prevention inversion starting in 30's might be a good idea. Younger than that, guys have pliant tall discs. Age 30 to 50 is when guys are strongest, may be lifting heavy weights in bad form, yet have onset of spine degeneration. In this age range I noticed that driving to work and driving from work required rear view mirror adjustment due to 8 hours working spine compression. So you can lose height from disc compression during the day. Beyond 50 the spine starts to fuse with less mobility, less heavy lifting, and fewer acute episodes of disc herniation. However, DDD can really accelerate, so inversion for prevention 50+ is still a good idea. Getting into a habit 5 minutes a day or after a workout is much better than trying to rehab acute back pain. The goal is to avoid back surgery which can have complications and may not cure back pain.

You have to come up by hand(abs tensed during come up), hold the position for 10-15 seconds then take a step(abs tensed) after few steps walk normally. Does the trick for me. Hope it helps

I think the inversion table is good for your low back. It’s possible you either aren’t used to it or are improperly using it like how you adjust the height and where you position your body or how you tense your muscles when using it.

I use it after deadlifts when my low back starts feeling tight and it makes me feel bulletproof lol
