what i love about this scene is how tywin condescends to olenna the same way he does his own children but she parries and ripostes him so easily that you get a hint that he almost enjoys sparring with her

really wish we got more scenes with these two. They really were the great matriarch and patriarch of westeros.

Tywin cracks me up in this scene. He’s so stiff lol. When Olenna takes his arm he looks so unnatural 🤣 as though he’s totally forgotten how to enjoy himself (which he has)

I think Tywin actually enjoyed Olenna. She had great intelligence and he admired intellect more than other traits. If their interactions were between any other character we would call it flirtatious between them. But these two give us people enjoying each other without the romantic element. Which is vey hard to pull off. But these two do it effortlessly.

Tywin might be strict and sometimes cruel, but he did take up olenna's arm with no hesitation, even if it might be for show it still shows that he puts things aside to make nice

Something that no one else seems to mention is that at the end of the clip, Olenna calls Tywin just by his first name, no titles, no surname, just Tywin, and throughout the show I think she's the only one who has done so (and also the only one who can get away with it, other than Tywin's brother probably)

We see a small glimpse of the man Tywin was with his wife Joanna. He enjoys sparring verbally with highly intelligent people. Joanna was said to be just as intelligent if not more than Tywin. No wonder he turned so bitter after her death.
