Pixel 9 Pro XL 2 Weeks Later: Truth After Hype

Sharing my thoughts and also what it's been like to switch to the Pixel 9 Pro XL for the last couple of weeks.

Honestly phones are getting so good nowadays that doing spec for spec comparisons gets a little boring. So I just want to share more about the experience, and also just show you the sort of moments you can capture with photos and video from each device.

Honest talk: I actually did manage to return the pixel and get a full refund. I'm currently writing this on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and the next week or two will convince me whether or not to switch to this properly for the next 6-12 months. Because I did like the 9 Pro XL, but man, a foldable just seems like such a fun device to use in place of an S24 Ultra or iPhone.

Feel like we're finding our feet with the format of these phone videos now.
Loving using more photos, videos and music to show off what these phones are capable of.

Kinda feel like we're at a stage now with these flagship phones where they are just as good as each other for 'most people'. Comes down to personal preference over whether you like the Pixel / Samsung / Xiaomi skin of android.

P.S - Writing this on the Pixel Fold! Awesome phone, disappointed with the cameras so far, but loving the folsable format.

Brilliant video. Only comments 1. in terms of Gemini/Apple Inteligence/ChatGPT I think main difference is integration with 3rd party software. As an example Gemini (and the reason I use it 24/7) is the integration with the rest of the Google Apps (Youtube, drive, gmail etc). it has saved me hours of searching files, emails, videos in the past 6 months. My other commnent is on the camera delay. I believe the problem is software related. I would probably recommend deleting and re-installing the app. Also if you really wanna get the right photo at the right time Pixel, allows you to take a video and then pick any frame you want and will generate a hdr photo for you. I use it all the time now and it's miles ahead than taking shots and trying to hit the right moment.

As an android user, Apple's ai is what I've been waiting for. If I know Google that well, the "beta" label on Gemini would never go away until someone forced them to. I know they would finally work on Gemini when Apple finally announcing their ai

I use both. But satalite messages will make me buy the next phone. Whichever phone has satellite messages with the lowest price point. Right now its apple. 14 and up have satalite messages. Game changer for explorers. Everywhere i go there is conveniently no cell service.
