Seated INTERVAL Chair Workout to Boost Metabolism and Lose Fat | Chair Exercises for Seniors

Interval training is great to boost metabolism, lose fat and calories, and challenge the muscles in a new way. Most of us tend to do the same cardio workouts and our bodies get used to those workouts and we hit that dreaded plateau. I wanted to create an interval training workout for those of you who need or want to do the workout in a chair so you can also reap the benefits of interval training. These chair exercises are suitable for seniors and beginners.

In today's workout, we'll warm up for 10 minutes then walk or run (you choose) for 15 seconds to bring that heart rate up. We'll then walk at a comfortable pace for 30 seconds and continue going back and forth for 10 rounds. We'll finish with a 5 minute cool-down and then stretch.

Well, Jules, I loved the stretching at the end. lol. My legs are tired! Thanks for a good, hard workout. Currently healing from a hurt calf from perhaps walking? Anyway, I’m healing and chair exercises help keep going. Take care.-Claudia

This was a challenging workout but peppered with rewards: the "aah "type of reward after a grueling 15 seconds of going wild, followed by the slow walk and introduction of upper body movements felt so gooood. That you added the arm work prevented the walking portions from becoming stale. Just to let you know, Jules, your one sided chatter is always welcome. You do it with grace, with just a touch of shyness which I find charming. Thank you for a rewarding workout!...Anastasia

I have really bad knees due to running around doctors offices and hospitals for 45 years, this is a great way for me to work out, no pressure on my knees, quick and and easy, thank you

Thank you once again for your great chair workout programs . I’ve incorporated them into a plan my nutritionist has given me to get my metabolism working in menopause ( I’m 67) and to loose weight. Along with her help and your programs I’ve so far lost 6 kg in 9 week! 😊 I have another 6 kg to go and then will continue so as to keep it off. Your calm way of delivering your work outs I really find so helpful. What a great gifts we have these days to be able to do work outs in our own homes lead by an expert.
