6 inches of moving water can knock an an adult down. 12 inches of moving water can move your car.

Insane. I live in the Florida panhandle and we were watching to see if we would have impacts, and had nothing - and this is Asheville? What a huge storm and I am sure it caught many by surprise

In the aftermath of Helene, benefit from my misfortune and do not compound your problems: beware of an outfit called “Samaritan’s Purse’. These people showed up in my neighborhood in NJ after Superstorm Sandy offering to help. I was away at the time and my wife let them in. The end result was over $10, 000 in property stolen over a couple day period. SP disclaimed any liability and said they really didn’t do any background on their volunteers and didn’t even have records of who they were. So proceed accordingly.

🤔Of all the places, I would of never thought Ashville would get flooded. I'm from Sumter SC we're use to floods, but we got lucky this time.

My prayers go out to everyone impacted. I had such a nice trip a few years ago and fell in love. My heart hurts to see this.

I wonder what the effect on the environment was, when this kind of thing happened BEFORE humans developed it into modern cities?

Hurricane Helene is a great opportunity for Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina residents to try out PROJECT 2025 for themselves. Page 664 calls for dismantling NOAA and NWS so turn off all sources of storm info that comes from them if you want a glimpse of what PROJECT 2025 would be like.

Barriers designed to hold back the water are literally floating in it.

Heres why those shelters closed: some government workers felt scared and instead of engaging volunteerism, administrators shut it down completely. It a historically predictable thing: government by, of, and for itself. I am 99% certain standing "emergency plans" [if they existed] never looked at topographical maps.
