Sorry but 100% just sounds misleading, 5600 is 250% more than 1600 🤔

And the 5800X3D is another gen's worth of increase again!

And to think all those CPUs can go into one and the same motherboard. Astounding. True innovation. Unlike the crap intel pulled for years and years prior.

AM4 turned out to be a blessing.. This is amazing to me.. This is the first time I've seen a platform last this long with these kinds of improvements..

I’ve expected my R5 1600 to get slaughtered in this comparison, but I’m surprised that it’s still pretty decent for what it is.

I built my pc in 2017 with the ryzen 1500x. When I was able to upgrade to the 5600x recently my jaw dropped at how much improvement I saw. Made me glad I was an early adopter of ryzen

G'day Steve & Teddy Jr.,
While the RX6950XT shows the Extreme without Limitations, thanks for including the RX6600XT Results as I think this is more representative of a GPU level of performance that would be used by someone looking to upgrade a R5 1600 to a R5 5600 while keeping a B350 Motherboard. Saying that the amount of uplift in some games is 🤯Mindblowing

I did the 1600 to 5600 jump on my X370... Man, I'm so happy. Even OCd the 5600 a little to 4.6 GHz! My 1600 was clocked at 4.0 GHz (1.368 vcore, stable stress tested, golden chip!).

Made this switch last year. I wasn't happy because the 5600x had an insane price of 300+€, but it surprised me and the gains were huge at 1440p with a 3070. At the current price the 5600x is a great budget friendly cpu

Zen 3 is truly amazing. I upgraded from a 3600 to a 5800x with a 3060 ti and the performance increase was rather dramatic. What a profound increase it would be going from a 1600 to a 5600!

The ability to simply drop in a new cpu, while keeping everything else in the system the same, and attaining this much performance is quite mind boggling. Here's hoping the new AM5 platform will follow the same path.

Crazy how much has changed since Ryzen was first being introduced

I think it's more useful for end users to frame it like:
RX 6600 XT + R5 5600
RX 6950 XT + R5 1600

I upgraded from a 2700x to a 5800x3D and it's a perfect pairing for my rtx 3070 ti.
Might be a bit overkill but at least it should perform great with a higher tier gpu after I upgrade it.

Could you possibly do 5800X3D vs 1800x or perhaps even the 1700? Would be interesting to see a similar core count CPU from AMD and see how big the step is from the start to the final iteration, including games and other programs as well

Just updated my setup from a 1600 to a 5600 on a B450 motherboard. I love how AMD kept their promise of future compatibility with their new Ryzen CPUs, which made this upgrade possible. I am glad I went with team red back in 2018.

I've been through almost all RYZENs on my X470 board. The 1600 was a huge bottleneck but the 3600 pretty much eliminated the problem. Yes the 5600 is better but the difference is less noticeable. I'm on 5900X right now and the computer feels very smooth.

This is exactly the video I was waiting for! I'm definitely upgrading now from my 1600! Such a huge difference just for a literal drop-in upgrade on my motherboard!

The drop in compatibility of the 5600 and b350 is amazing 🤩

This is EXACTLY what I wanted to see from someone! I have a 1600X with x370 and I am going to buy a 5950X from a friend soon. Wanted to see a ballpark of games and productivity compared. I appreciate you guys.

Edit: I specifically remember when buying my CPU in 2017 that they wanted to guarantee support for AM4 until at least 2020, but I can't remember when that specifically ended on their first promise. I'm just very happy I bought in on first gen and they allow zen 3 on my board.

AMD didn't know we would be able to put 5000 series CPUs in our B350 boards, but I took the gamble that I would at least be able to put what is now the 3000 series in, and it seems to have definately paid off. This gains AMD lots of points in my book, intel lose so many to me requiring now boards all the time, not just cost but E-Waste too.
