For everyone saying the 12400 is the best for this price range, I want to point out that even a b660 motherboard cost 60/70 dollars more than amd motherboard. Plus the cpu is locked, has a tdp limit and for DDR5 Ram you need probably a 300 dollars motherboard

I bought R5 5500 for 120 USD. I have MB B450 which supports only PCIE 3.0 so ideal cheap upgrade. I will upgrade my GPU RX570 8GB as well once the prices fall down.

For 60 FPS stable the 5500 is a more than enough CPU. But of course the 5600 has its PCI-E 4.0 advantage... ;)

i think 3090 sabotaged that test, it runs slower on 5500 thats why the massive fps difference

5500 is just Cezanne with no integrated graphics. And it's on PCIe 3.0

If not wrong, 5500 supports only pcie 3.0 vs 5600 having support of 4.0. It could serve few percent difference too.

weird, something wrong here only video with such a gap between these everywhere else no more than 5 and those cpu are quiet the same perfomance except for the pcie 4.0 on the 5600 and not on the 5500 !

I have a Ryzen 5 1600 and a Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3. Where I live the 5600 is almost 40% more expensive than the 5500. That is pushing me into buying the 5500, but I don't want to regret. What would you guys do?
