The 5600 is even cheaper now! They can be had for a little as $130 over on Newegg using the link in the description 🎉😊

I just upgraded to a 5600 from an i5 4590. I wanted to go 7 series, but for budget builds it doesn't make any sense. You can get a CPU, motherboard and RAM for just the price of the 7600x ($300). I needed a new mobo and RAM for the 5600 but after selling my old stuff it only cost me about $150 to upgrade. It's significantly faster, and with a lower TDP.

Just bought it. Paired with Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2, RX5700XT. I managed to get it stable with PBO and negative offset of -25 on all cores. Super cool CPU.

The ryzen 5 5600G boosted my old system so hard+ safed me about 300 bucks with the Internal GPU when GPU prizes were totally crazy. + It worked well on a b450 board after a bios update. Even with a proper GPU its still nice to know you'll always have an internal GPU to crashtest your system when something is wrong. Now I have a 6700XT Eagle (475 bucks), 16 GB Rams @3600MHz (on AMDs support list) and can play all Games on 1440p highest settings (even with raytracing 40 fps, cyberpunk, control etc).
When I think of AMD those words pop up: cheap, strong performance, long lasting, great value. And it hasnt changed since my early teen years when I started building PCs.

You're right about how performance has increased so much in the last few years to the point this thing can be considered a budget cpu. With the new AMD and intel platforms I believe AM4 is the best platform in terms of value.

I got the 5600 for $140 and AMD GPUs are also a great value if you're not interesed that much in ray tracing and focus more on playing games. I'm pretty happy with my system and for what I considered was a reasonable price.

Just bought mine today, haven't upgraded in 10 years. Can't wait 😁 ( had a intel sandy bridge based 2.9ghz CPU, still going strong just my ram died so decided to upgrade. )

I bought two 5600's to pair with two RX6800's. 5600 is 90% of a 5800X3D. I wouldn't worry about a 5800X3D unless you think you will find and buy a cheap 3090 and up in the future. Top tier cards do depreciate, but not that fast, and are usually giving mid tier performance by the time they are mid tier price. RX6800 will also work fine on a PCIE3 board because it's X16 and has a wide memory bus, no need to upgrade for most.

Great video! Just upgraded from an Intel i7-4770 to the Ryzen 5600 for my daughter. Massive difference in Fortnite using the RTX 3060 since the CPU change. Went from 16GB DDR3 2400mhz to 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz as well. Using higher settings now and it’s staying at 100fps+ where as before it would drop to 40-60fps with the i7-4770 on a 3440x1440 monitor.

Hey kind of a weird question, but can you check that all the pins are in good shape without taking it out of the packaging? Like in the see-through part? Im planning on building my first rig in the next few months, and think ill pick up the cpu now. I just wanna know if i can make sure the pins are all good wothout taking it out so i can store it for when i have all the parts i need. Thanks 😁

Can the 5600 perform adequately when it comes to CPU intensive Games/Programs? I am thinking about ordering the CPU because I'm running games that would put too much stress on my old R3 1200, games such as Command Modern Operations and Total war titles, Is 5600 going to be fine or should I rather look towards 5700x?

Ya, this is a great buy. I got the 5600x at $200 for my daughter and thought that was a great deal at that time.

with non x variant of the 7000 series coming out soon, will it be wiser to go for 7600 instead of 7600x? its not like i will use that stock cooler even if it had a sensor panel instead of RGB...

Hey Danny loved the video! I bought one of these (Open box, $103) The Ryzen 5 5600 is a sleeper hit especially coming from a Ryzen 5 1600X. Amazing drop in upgrade with my B450 motherboard. Excellent value for dollar and thank you for a positive realistic review!
