Hmm, it's almost like everybody trying to jump on the anti-consumer live-service train maybe wasn't a great idea for the industry as a whole, seeing as how 99% of those games failed. Funny how that works out.

Instead of giving ceo and heads of gaming companies $10 million + bonuses, maybe they should put that money in keeping employees and not firing. They say they have no money and need to cut costs yet they still give all these people bonuses. Kinda ridiculous

Better Help isnt a good sponsor, very sketchy and have been shady in the past

Jesus christ, you can't even use your ps3 as a bluray player if sony decides to stop updating it in the future... drm is such a plague across electronics.

Nintendo thinks emulation is illegal unless they sell you emulated games for $60

Jim Ryan the guy everybody flips off when he walks out the room.

These lay offs are all part of Jim Ryan’s legacy. He will go down in history as the man who almost destroyed the PlayStation brand. What an absolute disaster.

Ayo, get that bag, no hate. But rethink that better-help sponsorship.

"This huge games are the getting too expensive to make and thus we need to lay off artists and talent" as a 41yo gamer all I can say is, gaming is losing its way and needs to be rebooted. No Sony, bigger and "prettier" does not equal to fun and timeless. I never get bored of playing Tetris, The house of the dead 2, Megaman X or Mario 3 for example, but ask me how many times I have played Horizon 2 or TLOU2 after finishing it.

I read this morning that the PS3 update included a renewal of an encryption key so that people could continue to use the PS3 as a Blu-ray player.

Why can't Sony just let these smaller studios make smaller non-VR games for the PS5 rather than shutting them down?

These giant companies keep hiring waves of people for single goals with the promise of careers, only to pull the rug out from under them once the job is done. 🤢

Nintendo are saying without the product and title keys you cannot emulate the game and if they can prove YUZU dev's created hacks to allow the decryption or circumvention of Nintendo security then Nintendo can sue for damages/loss of revenue from all the pirated games, this is similar tactic they took for the Gary Bowser case which they won.

Every industry on the planet is going through giant changes and are facing giant hurdles. That is all bad news for the average person, which is 99 percent of the population.

After the Wii U debacle to avoid layoffs, Iwata took a 50% pay cut to help pay for employee salaries, RIP to that legend.

Concerned with your better help sponership. Get the bag but I feel like a lot of YouTubers are not considering the negative sides and potential issues for people's mental health information getting spread out through third party links. It is a concern that has been touched on but not fully addressed by the company among other issues with with the therapist selection. I think it's okay to be sponsored by them if that's what you choose to do but I would at least pay a little more attention to the concerns that that app may bring on people who don't know the HIPAA issues.

There has been at least 20k layoffs in gaming since 2022! Games are tanking left and right, game prices going up, and quality is going down. Yeah, we are seeing a gaming crash.
