Microsoft & Activision Blizzard vs. FTC Pre-Trial Recap

The FTC Microsoft Pretrial hearing took place today and while headlines are that the FTC sues Microsoft over the Activision deal, the pretrial was rather uneventful. However, it would seem that the Activision Blizzard lawsuit update is that this will move forward in the UK and EU before any concessions are made to the FTC. The Pretrial Xbox FTC interactions were brief and seemed to indicate that the FTC is open to discussions. The Xbox news today is that Microsoft seems to be wanting to close the Activision Blizzard lawsuit before July 13th.

Today Microsoft, Activision, and the FTC had their pre-trial hearing to discuss the case and how it will unfold. The FTC has sued to block the Activision Blizzard purchase of $69 billion dollars. While the FTC sues Microsoft over the Activision Blizzard Microsoft merger, today's update is huge Xbox news today because it is the kick-off of a larger hearing between Microsoft and the FTC.

CMA is going to provide a preview of their initial findings on Jan 18th and i've heard that usually don't change from their official decision. So we should know CMA's decision in a couple of weeks.
