I don't see any Xbox user complaining, it's called "business" for years Sony had almost all the exclusives and nobody said anything, this will bring billions more into gaming good for everyone, and if the gaming studios become boring other studios will replace them very quickly

Wow Engadget, that sounds pretty sour, if it was Apple buying studios you guys be doing backflips.

I don’t think your comments were fair.
All Activision studios were dropping their creative freedom to work on Call of Duty.
Under Phil Spencer umbrella it will be back to creative freedom, by providing enough time and resources to work on passion project.
Phil knows what it takes to do games the right way…
In general you might be right, but this case is different - quite opposite. It the best chance for Activision’ salvation.

Sorry, but there is just too much misinformation in this video. I would have expected better.

You guys criticized Microsoft for not having Xbox exclusives, they go out and get some, now it’s a bad thing?

As Microsoft mentioned in the press release, Tencent and Sony are still bigger by revenue. Sony has a long record of exclusives.

Remember Minecraft? Any other platform holder published any game multiplatform? 🤔

The momentum has shifted since last Gen. That gap that was between Xbox and PS has closed significantly since last gen.... and is still closing. Microsoft has made tremendous strides to do this and it is working.

For 8+ I've heard and read the most juvenile and bully like statements made by ps fans. It was extremely cringe to experience the grade school type bully tactics that has spewed from PS fans for the last 8+ years. Now that the pendulum is swinging.... an entirely different tone is gracing the ears and eyes of the gaming community as a whole... from that of the ps side.

I have never cared about the nerd war. But I would be lying if I didn't have a sense of satisfaction seeing the "bully" squirm right now. I guess in comparison.... it's like when in Back to the Future.... when George McFly knocked out Biff thus resulting in a chain reaction to a better path of a better future. Satisfying to say the least 🤷‍♂️

But Microsoft's in third place, so how are they the biggest!? Where are all these videos when Sony buys a studio or locks a IP up?

4:20 "When a platform holder becomes the largest publisher in gaming..."

She has no idea what she's talking about. Or she's a butthurt PS fan. Even owning Activision, Microsoft is still miles behind Sony and Tencent.

When Microsoft buys something it’s the end of the world I’d love to see more media outlets challenge Sony on their square enix exclusivity deals.

I just want Xbox to fix their *DRM* problem...
It's a nightmare.

The only people I've seen take issue with this are playstation loyalists. Everyone else I've seen are so happy activision blizzard are changing owners. Warcraft fans especially. If you own a playstation then tough luck at least you know how it feels when Sony buys all these exclusivity deals and everyone else has to suffer for it. This is basically karma.

You sound extremely SALTY. Did you have this same energy when Sony kept buying studios and making exclusive deals to keep games of Xbox for 1, 2 and even 3 years?

Remember when all Nintendo exclusives were the same, repetitive game because they came from “the same perspective”? No? Yeah, because that’s BS. This was such a garbage take.

This is simply business. Xbox is a brand and acquiring Activision is a huge asset to that brand. Yes the industry is changing, for the better. Don't forget the added risk that this acquisition could cause a major hit to Xbox if by chance it doesn't pay off. Activision has been stagnant for a decade in terms of quality. Time will tell. Good move on Microsoft for stepping up.

She said reaction to the purchase was "mixed", except most notable YouTubers or content creators right now are reacting with excitement to the purchase. The gamers will win with this.

I think so far the only video I have seen yet that provides a negative POV to this is this video right here. And besides, things consolidate all the time. Loans, debt, etc. It's a quality of life movement. As far as I'm concerned, I'm excited to see what this does for Microsoft's gaming platform.

2.3t trillion dollar company vs. 150 billion dollar (not anymore) company. Microsoft has more cash in the bank than Sony's entire market cap. Sony poked the bear. Anyone with a brain always knew it was game over for Sony if Microsoft decided to go all in on gaming. That day is here. 👍🤷‍♂️

Why does it sound like she's trying to push an agenda here like it's a monopoly? Microsoft isn't the only company buying studios for their game division. If you ask me Xbox is helping these people that work at Activision by cleaning house of this toxic frat boy lifestyle and letting people's creative juices flow. They had like eight studios and out of those 8 only two of them were working on non Call of Duty properties, this allows them to make passion projects and the studio that wants to focus on COD can do that.
