It was such a strange thing for them to add a sickness system and a system in which you take care of sick sims at the hospital, but somehow *your* sick sim can't go to the hospital to get treated.

The most annoying think about the staff is when they aren’t doing their job and the game won’t let me reprimand for slacking off because the game says they aren’t slacking off. But there’s like 5 customers not being rung up, and my employee is just chit chatting with others. Like how is that not slacking off? Lol

I feel like there were a lot of missed opportunities with the Get to Work pack for crosspack content, especially when Cats & Dogs came out. They could've added "allergic to pets" trait for the doctor to take care of, they could've added police dogs for the detective career, cats and dogs are also used as therapy animals in some hospitals. Really let down that the team didn't even try it.

I wish sixam had houses. Even if they are fake ones.

Also detective career, important note, some of the clues *are* hidden. You're meant to search for clues on the ground and if you're near enough to a clue it'll find the clue. There's rough hints based on an actual pathing logic. I actually had to search around the hallway for a clue early in the one detective path. And another was a completely mild looking burnt waste basket that actually had a clue too. It's basically a hidden object challenge. Pretty fun.

I hateeee the retail career so much !! I used to play with a sim who owned a bakery and from having to schmooze people, she basically became friends with everyone. Which was fine, until she became depressed every 3 seconds because her “friend”’that she spoke to once had died 😭 It was so annoying

I can’t play this pack without Carls Guide Retail Reloaded mod. It’s amazing and really fixes it up so it’s playable. Also a few Little Sam mods.

The problem with the active careers is that if you are playing a family or household, multiple sims, the other sims do not progress if you actively follow your sim to work everyday. The other sims are basically "on hold" while the active sim is gone, upon returning they are even doing the exact same thing in the exact same spot as when the active sim left. This is bad because if you send just one sims to a park for example, upon returning the sims left behind move and do different things, they are not "on hold" waiting for the sim to return.
Again, all the things you wish were there are not because there is no PACK INTEGRATION !!!

I also think this pack is somewhat underated. I really like making shops, and it is fun for building out little shopping areas that are more realistic for a day out with your sims like if you have a cafe and a library and a couple of boutiques. Although the build buy is basic, because of that I find myself using it in nearly every community lot build because of it. Like hand sani and paper towel dispensers.

Much like spellcasters, scientists are insanely overpowered. Sure, they cannot burgliate or transportalate, but much unlike becoming a spellcaster, becoming a scientist is always an option for aliens, (daywalker) vampires, werewolves, Servos and mermaids.

The best way to break the game is to use the cloning machine on serums like need fixer or age away. It's every bit as good as using copypasto on spellcaster potions.

Also, the bb of this pack may look job orientated at first glance, but it can add so much to every sim's home. Use sixam stuff for a psychedelic party location, enhance your private dungeon with prison style decoration, use lab stuff and hospital stuff for a more techy/futuristic appeal, etc...

I really hope they do more refreshes, and that this EP gets one. Because the retail system desperately needs an overhaul. I loved Open for Business and I really want the retail system to be enjoyable and actually useful.
1) Workers need to be smarter.
2) Cash registers need to be used as actual cash registers.
3) Sims should be spending money they actually have rather than pulling money out of thin air. (Some kind of career story progression added to base game would be useful for this, too).
4) Sims should be retaining items they buy in their inventory, and they shouldn't be buying items they already recently bought.
5) Sims shouldn't require talking up to buy an item. I have never needed to have a sales associate sell me something. I either need it/want it or I don't. Usually when you go in to a store in the first place, it's because they have something you already need. Any talking up of Sims should be to "upsell" so they buy <additional> or more expensive items rather than needing to be talked up to buy a plate of basic cookies.
6) You should be able to hire your own household members. Currently I need a mod to do this, and to do it in an unmodded game its not an actual household member working at your store. Instead they pull one from your library and you end up having a weird dopplegangar working there instead.
7) You should be able to fill the roles yourself. I shouldn't HAVE to hire a cashier or something if my Sim is perfectly capable of doing that role themselves.
8) Clothing system desperately needs an overhaul. Let us choose the initial outfit, or initial five in each category. And from then on its locked unless you purchase an outfit or have an outfit gifted to you by another sim.

i had to use mods and the queue fence to:
1. get customers to queue in an ORDERLY fashion (make queue line one tile wide, with one entry point and leading up to cashier)
2. use mod to Ring up at Register
3. use another mod to make work interactions faster (reduce simulation lag, reduce chit-chatting, mood animations)
4. use that same mod for hiring whoever you want, easier managing and instructing your employees to clean, restock etc.

i've quit playing the game for a bit due to the frequent ridiculous game and mod-breaking "updates"

You have to physically click on the jail cell and tell your sim to lock the prisoner up again once you’re all done with them, which is fine I guess but I wish that at least after a certain amount of time they’d go back naturally

Get to work is one of my favorite ep’s and I wish they would do a refresh of it because it feels really incomplete and kind of broken sometimes.

I actually use this pack quite a lot, even CAS. The most disappointing thing for me is the retail system, I avoid it like the plague because it only makes me want to play Sims 2.

I also don't really play the police career, because I get annoyed by all the loading screens, lol.

Sims 4 is so kiddifed (I know it's not a word but just bear with me lol). When you compare this pack to Sims 2 Open for business, the gameplay value is so low. The police career is extremely buggy the higher you go up the career ladder the more bugs you encounter. I only like Sims 4 for the graphics as it is the most visually pleasing game from the franchise but in terms for gameplay, Sims 2 or 3 is better
