Scorn is an upcoming first-person biopunk survival horror adventure video game developed by Serbian developer Ebb Software for Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X/S. The game is inspired by the works of visual artists H. R. Giger and Zdzisław Beksiński. The player controls a humanoid lost on a nightmarish alien planet filled with odd creatures and living techno-organic structures composed of machines, flesh, and bone. The player will explore different interconnected regions in a non-linear fashion, searching for answers that will explain more about the game's world.

The game presents various biomechanical weapons that all attach to a modular base implanted on the character's body. To utilize a specific weapon, the player must remove the current weapon from the base and replace it with another. Two primary weapons have been showcased: a pistol and a three-barrel shotgun that fires organic spikes. The player starts with the pistol: a 6-shot weapon dealing mild damage to the in-game enemies. It appears to be completely organic, beginning with the mouth-like base for the weapon, which can be opened to let the pistol itself be removed and exchanged for the shotgun. The shotgun is a 3-shot weapon that deals considerable damage to enemies close-up, but the damage drops at long distances. The shotgun is composed of the same organic materials as the pistol. Later trailers have revealed other weapons such as a close-range pistol that also activates gates and an imploding grenade launcher.

Considering this is the same guy who gave GT7 a 9.5 out of 10 and said the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition was everything a remaster should be, I'll take his word with a huge grain of salt😂

Dreamcastguy is definitely the one who everyone should listen to when it comes to reviewing games, especially when he gave GTA definitive edition a 9 out of 10. This guy is truly a mastermind.

I’m about 3 hours into the game and I love the fact that there’s no hand holding. It adds to the tension and atmospheric vibe. Don’t expect a fast paced fps experience like this guy did. He probably played it with the lights on and with his nephews running around the house

I stil don't under why people were expecting an fps game like Doom? What made people think this was an Action game?

If you're wondering why the melee weapon requires a recharge, remember it's biological and expends more energy to release the end thing.

I heard a rumour that one time, a girl pulled down DreamcastGuys undies. They said the only way to describe it was ‘odd forms’ and ‘somber tapestries’…and that was idea that spawned the Scorn universe…

Same guy that praised Death Stranding, gave 9/10 to GTA trilogy definitive edition, gave a higher score to gran turismo 7 then Forza 5(absolutely a shit take). This game looks like it's meant to be a visual and sensory experience. I'm sure it's not a masterpiece but take dreamcast guy reviews with a pinch of salt. Dude is thick in the console war crap, pretends he's not and there is whole montage videos proving how ridiculous he is at times. It's likely a perfect game for a service. Most will download and look at the cool concept and visuals, uninstall. We need more games pushing out of the traditional rails of game design.

I love this game, the way I see Scorn. I've just crashed on this weird planet, with nothing, not even a map, and I've got to find out what to do and survive. It is a first-person game, but you can hide or work out the enemy's patterns and avoid them. I see this as if I was there, what would I do in this was me on this weird planet, I feel the immersion is spot on

Only played for a few hours, and haven't been murdered yet, but we'll see what the future holds

I think the fact that Dreamcast Guy doesn't like the game is actually a good thing...

This isn't a combat game, so the combat was actually supposed to feel like a last resort. I literally snuck past most the enemies this game most of them he(Dreamcast guy) fought. This played as a realization for me. Being dumped in a world where you don't know anything. The puzzles were tied seamless to the exploration in a sense that the biggest puzzle was how to navigate the environment. Never played anything like it, and I probably never will again. if your expecting flashy combat and something the game devs help you to understand this isn't it. You get dropped in and you just figure out how to make it through on your own.

I keep getting this image of four middle aged guys who played games in the 90s, thought games in the mid 2010s sucked, and tried to recreate their childhood without realizing their audience had changed. I mean, I can almost see their thought process as they were smoking one Saturday night. "Hey, let's take the 7th Guest, plus Alien, plus the Star Trek episode where everything was grown (not the Borg, the other one)." And this bastard was given life. TA DA!

Yes kids, this is what your creative writing teacher called polishing a turd. Don't do it.

It’s hard to take his reviews seriously ever since he gave the new gran turismo a high score😂

I saw this review coming especially considering his expectations of Scorn. It will probably be a very divisive game. I’ve seen reviewers like skillup strongly recommend it. I’ve seen ign give it a 7. Some have given it a 4. The one thing I seen in common is that this is definitely a very intriguing game and is worth a shot. A game backed by Kickstarter and given funding later on until being scooped up by Microsoft it’s certainly had an interesting development story and I’m glad it finally is here and made it out of development hell. This reminds me of a game that a lot of people were not a fan of and it was rough around the edges. It was called a sinking city and the combat of the game was pretty rough along with the gameplay and the game had this constant sense of dread about it. The story was fairly interesting as well as the detective elements of the game. I feel like when reviewers review games they tend to not focus on the primary goal of whatever game their reviewing and they try and make the game that’s not made for them fit a certain box and give it a poor review score. Not every game is made for you that doesn’t mean it’s bad it just means that it’s not made for you similar to art. I feel this strongly with scorn bc the world that they have built here is one of the most unique game worlds I’ve seen in a long time. The attention to tension and making you feel that constantly though out the game is excellent. The way they decided to not hold the players hand and tell them anything is perfect. I like the fact that the game doesn’t try and fit into a modern game design box. The devs stuck with their intention and I think they nailed it from that perspective. This is definitely not agony. That’s such a cheap cop out to compare this unique world to that cheap hellish generic game that doesn’t have nearly as much soul as scorn.

"You have to kill them to progress."
If you wait, most enemies just go on a certain path and then go into the wall or down a hole. Not every enemy has to be engaged with.

Playing Skorn, I realized that you have to think hard for each next step, for example. At the beginning, everyone killed that incompetent slob so that his arm would fall off, but there is an option not to kill him, that cleaver is not there for nothing. Everyone likes to fight, and you can pass the enemies without firing a single shot, because they take care of themselves and if you wait a little when you see them and they don't see you will see what happens, and in many other situations, but I won't spoil it.
