Horizon Forbidden West is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Its release date is 18 February 2022 for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. A sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn (2017), it features an open world in a post-apocalyptic western United States. In this video DreamcastGuy does a Brutally Honest Review of Horizon Forbidden West for the PS4 Pro, Ps5, also known as the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 pro. This talks about gameplay, story without spoilers, and great graphics. Horizon Forbidden West received positive reviews from critics, with many praising the open world, story, side quests, updated mechanics, and overhauled cinematic cutscenes. Horizon Forbidden West is an action role-playing game played from the third-person perspective. Players control Aloy, a huntress in a world populated by dangerous, animalistic machines. In an open world, she explores the mysterious frontier known as the Forbidden West, a post-apocalyptic version of the western United States, specifically the states of California, Nevada, and Utah. The map is larger than in the previous game, filled with secrets that lie beneath ruins from the world of the Old Ones. It has a multitude of recognizable locations including a ruined San Francisco and the Yosemite Valley with various biomes. One of the main additions to the sequel is underwater exploration.[4][5] The sequel has enhanced melee combat, revamped climbing mechanics, and improved traversal options with the Valor Surge system, freeform climbing, and tools such as the Shieldwing, Focus Scanner, Diving Mask, and Pullcaster. The mission structure for quests better supports variety in objectives with compelling reward systems. It has improved animation works and cinematics.

Based on what you say and the gameplay footage, the game looks absolutely gorgeous inside and out. I will definitely will be playing this once I finish the first since I am in "stop buying games if you have the older one already and haven't finished it yet" mindset. Excellent review ✨

Here's my idea...I think you should continue doing your reviews, but you should really do away with giving a number score...because honestly, anyone watching your reviews, and going through your actual 'score's', they fail to make much sense. Your score for Cyberpunk will never be lived down...and when you got wind of everyone else's comments of how bad the game was, you changed your tune, and suddenly your thoughts totally contradicted the review you gave less than a week prior. You gave this game a lower score than the original, yet you say this game is better than the original. I've seen you give reviews of a game, and highlight all the things that are wrong with a game, and basically describe it as an average game...yet you'll give it an 8.5. If a game is average, give it a 5.0/6.0...below average, give it a 3.5/4.0...and don't throw around 9.5/10.0 like you're giving out candy. 10.0 is PERFECT, and in 4+ decades of playing games, Chrono Trigger is maybe the only game I could give a 'perfect' score. To be blunt, your 'scores' come off as being more of the 'fanboy' reaction, as opposed to an honest, objective reaction. So again, your descriptions are really good in your reviews, but the scores you give aren't objective and consistent enough. That's my brutally honest review... of your review.

Great way to start the week. Glad to hear this builds off the first one. Haven't visited the Horizon series so I definitely need to add this series to the queue. The Game of the Year lineup will be curious this year.

I loved the original HZD game and was the first one I got a platinum trophy on. I think that they improved all of the mechanics of the first game. I see a lot of people saying they could not get into the first game but are interested in this one. Listen, if you didn't like the first one due to the story or plot I doubt you will like the second. The plot and storyline are what got me into the first game and made me overlook the other weaker elements.

I do not played Horizon zero dawn, just watched story recap video's of it.

The gameplay ability to dive/ explore underwater its a must for me in open world games.

Glad to hear about the new features and scale of the game. The game looks amazing! With that said I was just really bored with the dialect from Zero Dawn. I really hope the characters are more interesting this time around. The combat seems even better and well improved. Sounds like a really solid experience.

Looks great and I am very hyped to play it as well. I love how you casually leave the horse in the water around 9:30 lol. I think we all left the mounts in odd places in the first game since you don't form a real attachment to one but it's just funny IMO.
