Exactly the info I needed! Started lifting a week ago. I know i lost a lot of muscle. From 211 to 135. Broke my ribs at 195 hit 211 healed up and started keto. That was around 8 months ago. I’m basically starting from scratch and feel like a kid haha

These are all great signs to watch out for. I also want to make a suggestion to people that probably seems basic and dumb, but which I think is important. Make sure your strength is going up over time not down, if it goes down your workout may be tearing you down too much. But don't strain yourself either, the goal is to only go up very slowly over time until the heavy weights FEEL like light weights when you lift them. When you rush it you either injure yourself or you get plateaued because you can't recover enough between workouts! A lot of fitness promoted today is high volume weight lifting and large amounts of cardio but both of these can break you down over time.

Im mid 40s and the worst shape of my life, yet practically the same weight I was when I left the Army 18 years ago. Weight hasnt changed, belt like has a little bit, but muscle is now fat, and 1 flight of stairs causes me to breathe heavy. I learn ALOT from Thomas and Dr Berg, but I have yet to get off my ass and use that knowledge.

Yes, I regained weight lately, mainly on muscles gain. I exercise vigorously, religiously since young age. I have an athletic body and lean. Last year I started to lose weight rapidly, no matter how much I put in. I increased protein intake, lean protein and quality foods. I was getting too thin with low BMI. Scary, really. I thought something not going right, beside I have great appetite, full of energy and feeling good with daily intermittent fasting 18 to OMAD. After a year struggling to gain a bit of weight, trying everything and nothing worked, I finally realized my body needs a booster. At older age, am 70, our body does not absorb all the nutrition from foods we eat and the supplements in pills we're taking daily. I researched and started to add collagen powder ( Vital and Orgain from Costco). In less than 2 months, I finally gained 5 pounds, NOT in fat, all my clothes fit exactly the same. You can tell you are getting fat or not by trying your jeans, the most accurate way to know. I see my shoulders grow larger, abs remain flat, arms very defined and legs growing bigger size and tone. Love the way I look right now. I jumped back to the swimming pool every day the past 2 weeks, continuing what I did in the teen years. Yes at older age we need different foods, different supplements to help the entire body system.
PS: for seniors, a reminder. When taking vitamins make sure you get the one chelated to maximize absorption ( per my dietitian and chiropractor, chelated vitamins are very important otherwise you waste your money, anything put in will come right out).

Intermittent fasting actually made my muscles bigger and nicer, the natural growth hormones and strategic refeed are great

Omg the past few months, I've really increased my activity. Cardio and resistance training. Been fasting every other day. But not paying attention to Marcos. Hair started falling out again like it did 4 years ago. Tired, fatigue, forgetfulness. I've been trying to up my protein but I'm still struggling to get it all in. I do good at 90-100gms. But have seen a difference. The weight is off but I guess I get new struggles. Lol

You 100% described exactly what I went through after having surgery then going into Covid lockdowns for two or three years! So this year I am back in the gym for five times a week even if it’s just to do the aerobic machines. Thanks for your work.

I'm turning 46yo this year, my goal is bluffly not to get shredded. I do a lot of strength/cardio workout instead of a bro' split. i'm more now on a PPL split plus 200min of VO2 cardio per week.

I'm 16 and I started lifting at the start of the year before then I was doing home workouts but when I started lifting weights I made lots of progress but due to things with school like preparing for tests and projects I went to the jym less but my strength never went down but after my most recent test period 2 months ago I didn't go to the jym for weeks and I find myself not being able to do as many reps and lift as heavy as before so idk if I lost muscle or it's just that I don't have enough energy? Cause this type of thing never occurred earlier this year

I KNEW it!!! Help, please!?!?! How do my 24 yr old son and I come back?? He and I are both immunicompromised. We were diagnosed last month with "Long Covid"; fighting it for over 4 mos, but finally beginning to recover. We've been doing 16/8's IF, M-F, for 7-8 mos. We've both lost a lot of weight and felt great at first. But now, we are struggling to do ANY thing; walk more than 10 mins, household chores, or even--breath! How do we recover? Please? 🙏 🥺

I’m 62 and train regularly 3-4 times per week, 2 body parts per workout at a moderately rigorous pace (circuit sets) and walk 3-4 times per week about 1 mile each walk session. Should I take creatine - in addition to pre workout - before sleep at night? Thanks.

I didn't think Thomas would recommend a product with sunflower oil in it?

I’ve seen several videos about beet root juice. Can you make a video on the benefits of beet root juice?

Hi Thomas, can you develop ammonia smell? I have this smell after night inside bedroom. I d like to connect the dot with my metabolic syndrome. Very hard for me to gain muscle.
