Today we will talk about two exercises that many people tend to confuse between.
Why? Not only do these exercises look almost the same, but they also strengthen the same muscles, but in a slightly different way.
Lunges
🔵 This exercise is more dynamic. It is a form of walking forward, and you can use it in more ways like stepping backward or laterally
🟢 It will target your lower body and will work on your reactive strength, and also improve your dynamic balance
Split Squats
🔵 This exercise is a stationary movement exercise - the legs are fixed on the ground, and the movement comes from the hip and knee.
🟢 It will target your lower body, and improve your static balance.
Both exercises are great and can be used for different goals; ideally, you should implement both into your routine.
But here is a tip that will help you to choose which one suits you more:
👉 If you want to work with heavy weights, the split squat will be ideal because of the added stability to the movement.
👉 But if your goal is to improve your dynamic balance, try to use lunges.
