Sometimes it is just genuine shock at how fast children grow. It's really an amazing process when you think about it.

I feel this. My nephew is about to turn 4, and I feel like he was born yesterday. My other nephew is about to turn 1.
I'm starting to feel like an old man (I'm only 26)

I remember joking with my little cousins that I was gonna watch the FNAF movie cause I’ve been playing the games since 2014 when it came out.
One of them said “That’s the year I was born!”
I felt this meat suit dying…

When you havent seen a family member in years and they go from kid to full blown teenager it can really throw you off 😂

I remember thinking "what did you expect it's been X years", but i totally get it now. So much change compared to your adult life.

Tragically accurate. My nephew is about to start driving. It doesn't feel like it's been that long since he peed on me in Walmart because I didn't get his diaper changed fast enough. The way our perception of time changes is wild.

I used to pass off those comments but I’ll be an uncle next year, and I know for sure seeing my nephew or niece growing up will make me realise how fast time passes more than I already do now. I’ve seen it with my cousin’s cousin. One meet-up they’re a baby the next they’re playing with my cousins’ toys. It’s wild. I’ll see my brother more since he moved here than I saw my cousins tho so the feeling will either be lower or a lot higher

It really is bizzare seeing a human being you used to hold in one arm, talking and walking and having opinions about things. It’s like “wait weren’t you a baby 5 minutes ago?”

Yep. I usually follow " youve grown so much" with (looking at my brother friend, whoever "man we're getting old"

But also time passes at the speed of a sledge hammer to the back of your head. You don't realise until you get hit. Like my niece almost yesterday was this tiny little girl that loved to climb in my arms and count. Today. She's a grown woman in her early 20's. And I can't help but wonder "what the hell?" I never turned my back on her. How did this happen? I remember getting her pads when her first period came. Consoling her when she got her first heart broken. Taking pictures with her at her graduation. But then it's her 22nd birthday and I am shocked that this day came.

I was 1 week away from turning 8 when my niece was born. She's going into high school next year (the same one I went to). It's nuts to think how fast it's all gone. Everything is so slow when you're a kid, and everything starts speeding up. Time is a facinating thing

They kept saying it for YEARS after I finished my growth stopped.

They didn't understand why I didn't feel GREAT when I weighed 115 lbs and they announced to an entire room full of people "look how big she is now!"

Yeah I guess I'm still not eating.

It's so weird realizing that I, now as an adult, do all those things I remember seeing adults do when I was a kid, like tell kids about how I held them as a baby and telling them how they used to be so tiny. It makes me feel so old

SO MUCH THIS
my cousin I used to babysit, emphasis on baby, graduated high school this summer and it all clicked of like, oh my God, I get it, cause I swear you were HALF this size until a blinked

See there's this, but also with small kids (like under 11) they for some reason seem to hate being called small or a kid, ecen at that age its seen as patronising, and to them being 6 probably IS being big when they're around 3 year olds. So I tell them how bug they are, how much they've grown, and how strong they are so they can feel confident and big and strong

My cousin are 12 and 10, I was there when they were born. The 12 year old is at my shoulder, I remember being terrified to hold her she was so small.
