The Trinity In Adventism? The First 50 Years - Dustin Butler

preview_player
Показать описание
In this presentation (Part 1 of 3) Dustin Butler reviews what our pioneers believed and taught regarding the personality of God during the first fifty years of Adventism. From what churches did our pioneers leave to enter God's remnant? What was the Seventh-day Adventist's official position on the topic during this period? The evidence is actually very clear when examined closely.

Amen. May we go back to the Faith of our Pionéers.
Many in our area are learning that what our Pionéers believed was truth. And they are making decision to go back to the foundations of Adventism.

Praising our Father for this simple humble tool we can share. I plan to share this, my only change to the entire presentation would be at the 39 minute mark where you allow viewers to peek into the dirty laundry basket what I mean is I pray next time the words would say "I love and respect my brothers and sisters who do not yet understand the cunning 'confusion' or error, and I will diligently pray until the day comes that this pillar is clarified and we can experience Pentecost repentance and power. I long for the day we can wash each other's feet and work united in truth"
Guard humility.
Hide a multitude of sins.. have redeeming love..

To ignore our history as lead of God is sure that we will ignore the truth as revealed in the holy Bible. Our history is given by the Master Builder. Praise God for Men and Women who risk all to go against the tradition of men and churches

Catholic Creed injects coeternal coexistence, and it brings words in that is more complex then the original Bible quote. The word Trinity is not Holy enough to explain God it's dipped in paganism.

SDA vs Catholic vs Anti-trinitarian
CATHOLIC TRINITY
The Trinity of the Catholic Church is derived from Greek philosophy and teaches that it is the Father who eternally generates the Son. The Son is seen as having been derived/begotten by the Father while the Holy Spirit proceeds from both. This implies that the generation of the Son depends on the Father theologically and that the Father is the only one without origin. The Catholic Church affirms the eternal subordination of the Son.

ANTI-TRINITARIANS
Anti-Trinitarians have substantial similarities to the Roman Catholic Church’s concept of the trinity. They seem to have inherited the Roman Catholic Church’s understanding of God
with the Son in subordination to the Father having been begotten in a birthing event deriving his existence from the Father. This similarity is also seen in the procession of the Holy Spirit from both the Father and Son.

SDA GODHEAD
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one Godhead or one God with three co-eternal, co-equal divine Persons each God, in perfect unity though distinct from one another, None is the origin of the others.

The anti-trinitarians in reality are expounding Roman Catholic trinity doctrine. They are under a strong delusion and it is possible that Rome herself is at the head of their movement and has them deceived.

"The King of the universe summoned the heavenly hosts before Him, that in their presence He might set forth the true position of His Son and show the relation He sustained to all created beings. The Son of God shared the Father’s throne, and the glory of the eternal, self-existent One encircled both. About the throne gathered the holy angels, a vast, unnumbered throng—“ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands” (Revelation 5:11.), the most exalted angels, as ministers and subjects, rejoicing in the light that fell upon them from the presence of the Deity. Before the assembled inhabitants of heaven the King declared that NONE BUT CHRIST, the Only Begotten of God, could FULLY enter into His purposes, and to Him it was committed to execute the mighty counsels of His will." - Patriarchs and Prophets, p36 (emphasis mine).

A very interesting presentation and I look forward to watching the remaining videos in the series.
In the Review and Herald, Oct. 9, 1913, on page 21 is found an article written after one by EGW, tiltled, "The Message for Today". The article does not have an author noted, but may be the editor at the time, F.M. Wilcox. Here is a quote from that article. "For the benefit of those who may desire to know more particularly the cardinal features of the faith held by this denomination, we shall state that Seventh-day Adventists believe, –
1. In the divine Trinity. This Trinity consists of the eternal Father, a personal, spiritual being, omnipotent, omniscient, infinite in power, wisdom, and love; of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the eternal Father, through whom all things were created, and through whom the salvation of the redeemed hosts will be accomplished; the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead."
Since I'm unclear as to the full application of this statement, could you please make a brief comment on this. Thank you.

I believe there has error in present time in SDA church theology especially teaching of trinity and is not in biblical.

No trinity exists. Jesus is ONLY WITH THE FATHER, as crystal clear disclosed by the gospels. The reason is that the Holy Spirit is not a THIRD divine person. If a third person existed, that person would be mentioned by Jesus together with the Father. But this does not happen, i.e. this means that third person does NOT EXIST, in fact neither the Holy Spirit nor the Spirit of Truth are THIRD PERSONS.
Jesus is ready to go to heaven and promises that He will come to comfort the apostles "I will come to you". However - from the context - you can figure out that this won't happen in flesh and bones, i.e. from time to time Jesus will go to the apostles, but in the FORM OF A SPIRIT.
You can call Him the "Spirit of Jesus". Thus, you have Jesus (in heaven) and the "Spirit of Jesus", the Father and the "Spirit of the Father" ("Spirit of your Father", helping the apostles when speaking), God and the Spirit of God (aka Holy Spirit). The Spirit of God is thus simply the SAME GOD (almighty) who is a spirit, NOT A THIRD PERSON. EVERYTHING is carried out by that Spirit here on earth, NOT PERSONALLY by God (see the gospels): "God is a spirit" Jn. 4:24. Thus, the Spirit of God is actually originated by God who is away "No man has seen God at any time.". The Spirit of God dealt with Mary's pregnancy, spoke when Jesus was baptized, led Jesus into the desert, later helped Him in speaking too. He also helped the apostles.

I very much appreciate how you have helped explain why the trinity is a false doctrine. However, I do have a question as it relates to the Holy Spirit.

John 14:6
King James Version
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If Jesus says that Jesus is the way unto the Father and there is none other.

If Jesus says that Jesus is the truth unto the Father and there is none other.

If Jesus says that Jesus is the life unto the Father and there is none other.

Then what room is left for a Holy Spirit?

The Father God has a holy Spirit, I hope.

The Son of God has a holy Spirit, I hope.

But Scripture gives no room for a "Holy Spirit."

A pastor tried to disfellowship me, and he ended up disfellowshipping himself. Another pastor did the same thing and claimed I tried to choke him. The truth is he was in a satanic rage against me and grabbed me and threw me out of the church and told the head elder to call the police and his wife texted us and told us not to go to church anymore. But we ignored this insanity.

"Those who turn from the plain teaching of Scripture and the convicting power of God’s Holy Spirit are inviting the control of demons." DA 258.2

But they still believe the pastor and claim they are forgiving me. I don't believe they can disfellowship me. Ellen White said Elijah and David both made a mistake by leaving Israel.
