You are absolutely crazy to say QBO is robust. As a bookeeper doing daily tasks for many clients, it is the most painful work I've done in 19 years.

I have been a bookkeeper for 27 years and QB's desktop has always been so easy to use and organized to where you knew your transactions were recorded correctly and you were able to be very thorough with your bookkeeping. I hate QBO and I don't intend on using it, everyone that I know that has QBO has bookkeeping issues, no thanks!

I am still having to use 2010 because they stopped selling stand alone disks. I am now transitioning over to paper ledgers since I'm concerned the disk will get scratched or damaged somehow. I wish companies would go back to SELLING a product instead of just RENTING them. QB use to be my favorite business program.

I am one of the people that is probably going to retire with this decision, which will greatly impact the small businesses and non profits that I currently service.

I also agree that this will push more seasoned professionals into retirement. Anticipating this, I am seriously considering closing my practice. It will also affect older small business owners who also don't want to learn the new tech.

The company I work for is looking to switch to QBO. One of the issues we are having in QB Desktop is the Advanced Pricing in that when we make a quote prior to the date range of a price rule and then convert to a sales order within a new price rule date range, the original pricing from the quote changes based on the rule. Hector, I remember asking you this and you said the only way to stop the prices from updating in this situation is to turn of Advanced Pricing. Because we have many in-office and remote employees using QB, turning off Advanced Pricing in order to convert is simply not an option. Do you know if QBO will have the same problem? I spoke to a QB Desktop rep today and he said if I tick the Don't round option, the prices will not change. Do you know if this is true? He refused to send me any documentation on what the "Don't round" affects or how it works.

I’m a small business owner, I’m pissed at Quickbooks lack of straightforwardness. I need the functionality of Premier, it’s not clear if online has the functionality that I need. Inventory and assemblies are absolute must for my business. I’m considering transitioning to another product or back to Premier 2019.

We have been experiencing some problems, such as changes to our items, or items and the description of our items got mixed up and I have had to correct them manually.
Has this been happening to anyone else?

Hector, a few things that really concern me: 1) The online version is so much slower when categorizing transactions (Very Frustrating). 2) The online version is really difficult to control. However i am working on the certification and am hopeful it will help me with these issues.

This is very bothersome. I have been considering moving my contractors to my Quickbooks accountant desktop, because I can't figure out a decent way to use the job costing items for customer/item reporting etc.in QBO. Am I missing something with QBO and detailed job costing? I am really confused as to what I should do. This is driving me crazy. Any suggestions?

The annual cost of QB online is ok for my larger business. But I use desktop to manage 4 LLCs, one LLC has like 5 transactions, the other three LLCs are just for a rental property. So we are talking about 3 transactions a month. That is why I used QB Desktop. I'm not going to pay 4 times $600. That's $2400 a year. I will go back to a spreadsheet for those. Heck, I wonder if I can create a simple software just to track a few items a month for my accountant.

So I've got Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2021 and the bank feeds portion won't work after that. I'm not on a subscription of any kind. I just bought it outright, like software should. In a box, with a disc. Don't like the idea of my books not being in my computer, in my office, and would prefer to stick with desktop rather than online if I have a choice. From the looks of it, they'll kill desktop off in the next few years regardless. Can I keep using my version, and just import the bank transactions manually I don't have to upgrade or go with online, either one? That would be great. It's not that big of a deal to download them the the banks site and just import to qb. I don't use payroll or inventory. Just basic records, capable of producing a P&L and Balance Sheet.

Yes, my credit card didn’t go through…my desktop stopped completely, could not even get it to open. I had to go online. Hoping I can learn from you to keep my company running. It was a BIG issue…..

Hello, I can't stand QB, which I've had for years, which is also why I'd like to switch from QB desktop to another desktop software that's designed for that purpose, so it's seamless, easy migration, almost identical, with built-in shipping manager, etc.
Is there such a thing, & if so, which is the best?

Thank you for providing this information! It's very helpful. Would you please tell me: in May 2024 we updated our QB Enterprise Solutions 24. As I understand it, we're good until May 31, 2027. However we also have Enhanced Payroll. Does this impact our Enhanced Payroll?
