Are QuickBooks Desktop users required to switch to Online?

Use Desktop and do not ever want to go to online! Payroll works just fine with my Desktop subscription.

Quickbooks online is practical the problem is that is a completely different template and doesn’t have the same customization as the desktop pro, in our case for our trade business is not really working 🤦‍♀️. Both version online and desktop should be exactly the same with the exception that you can log in online.

So I would love to know where I can upgrade. I have QuickBooks pro 2020 and QuickBooks POS 18.0. Do I need to upgrade both? I have not been doing updates with QB since they came out with new. However, now I have found not all my credit cards transfer to POS . I have to go in and transfer just that one or two again. So how could one or two from a days transfer not go through with the rest. I always do a few days at at time. I have also lost customers in Pro that I have had for years. They no longer show in QuickBooks pro and I know they were there before.

But if you’re using their payroll it won’t work anymore! That’s why I switched to online
