The engineers who built the M1 are the ones who built the xelite. The best is to wait for consumer laptops before making any judgement.

Chip performance doesn't scale linearly with TDP, which makes your per watt score wildly misleading.

I love how all these chip companies can’t bring the power down while having high performance.

As I can see...Snapdragon with 23w are little bit better than M2...and that's really great...we need arm competititon, and this looks nice...yes, when Snapdragon X get released, Apple will release M4...but even then, those performance are really good...I would like to see arm based windows laptops that will be close in terms of power, design, battery as macbooks... :)

According to tests done by Anandtech: X Elite
80W Geekbench: ST - 2971(M3 Pro-3111), MT- 15371(M3 Pro- 15260), WIldlife extreme- 45fps;
23W Geekbench: ST - 2780, MT- 14029, WIldlife extreme- 39fps

Max is actually offended by the fact that another company claimed to be better than Apple and by a whole 21% at that lol. I am a fanboy of none, I just appreciate good stuff. M3 chips are truly amazing and getting that kind of performance on battery and that image processing for the webcams is pure bliss makes a huge difference in reliability.

Not sure that 80W config is the best to compare to especially in power efficiency. Gary Explains has a video from a couple weeks back showing the 23W X Elite beating the M3 (in multi core). The performance gain from 23 to 80W was abt 7%.

I would laugh at their 1st Gen product, but I hope Apple wouldn't do the same thing as their old staff are there. Their helps really show as SD chips are getting better and better.

Look at their SD 8 Gen 3. While their CPU is still losing to iPhone Chips, their GPU already beats Apple GPU. Not to mention their CPU is catching up to Apple generation by generation.

Geekerwan really makes good stuff about Chips, so I recommend everyone to have a look at his comprehensive chip videos.

Now Microsoft really needs to put in effort with ARM chips. They also have a server edge with Windows Server and apple doesnt even have that OS.

What's also funny is that this snapdragon elite chip won't be ready til the 2nd half of next year. By that time, Apple will be ready to reveal their A18 chip for the Iphone 16 and then the M4 lineup soon after that in the fall of 2024.

I will never understand this bizarre phenomenon of being hostile and disparaging about having more options as a consumer. 🤣🤣🤣

This is actually kind of great for Windows ARM and Android development.

Where did you get your numbers from? The 23W TDP version gets 2.7k+ in ST and 13k+ in MT meanwhile the 80W TDP version scores 3.2k+ in ST and 17k+ in MT. Idk where you got your numbers and estimates from; but they're not close to the scores gotten by several attendees to the Snapdragon Summit, who tested the chips.

It’s about time there was a real Android desktop version with a chip like this in a laptop

Competition is good for us. I would love to spent 400-500 USD for a laptop with 1 day battery life, because i don't care about high performance to do word processing, youtube and browsing

Hi Max I do love your videos but I think there is an error here regarding the TDP? Qualcomm is talking about DEVICE TDP and not the chip's TDP (which as far as I know, nobody outside Qualcomm knows yet). From what I know (notebookcheck) the M2 Max is rated at 36W TDP but with the GPU, it is 79W and with the other components it would be even higher. So they are actually roughly in the same league in fact.

Bro what's your problem
They said Only about m3 chip
They didn't say any thing about m3 pro or m3 max

i'm curious to see the prices of these laptops and tablets with x-elite

Okay, the X elite is not so good as the M3, but it is very good for the market, now we have more options, and of course it could be used in tablets running windows, Maybe this encourages Apple to release Mac apps on the iPad. It would be cool if we saw these processors in Chromebooks/tablets anyway.

Another two years for windows to beat apple M3 with arm based chip
I hate apple pricing ladder but had to buy a Mac because windows has nothing to challenge it on performance per watts

As first gen if x elite match the performance of base m3 is good enough
