“Sun's out. Rum's out.” That's the Big Chill Motto this summer, so the Jamaican Mule seemed like the ideal classic cocktail choice to share with you for this month’s ‘How To, where we'll be teaching you how to make this super easy yet unbelievably tasty classic cocktail.
We often get asked by our customers what the difference between a Jamaican Mule and Moscow Mule is and the answer is simple spirit.
The Jamaican is a variant of the Moscow they use the same basic ingredients, however the Jamaican has a heart of delicious rum whereas the Moscow is anchored by vodka. So if rum is not your tipple choice please feel free to substitute for vodka as this recipe can be easily adapted to make a Moscow.
Now let's get onto the fun stuff how to make this classic cocktail
CLASSIC COCKTAIL: JAMAICAN MULE
The Ingredients:
Rum
Lime wedges + juice
Sugar syrup
Angostura bitters
Ginger Beer
Ice
Please note that all rums work with a Jamaican Mule however our preferred choice at Big Chill, to give the cocktail that extra little kick is Santa Teresa.
THE DIRECTIONS
Start by filling your glass with ice. Next add your rum followed by a squeeze of lime juice and finish by topping up with ginger beer and garnishing the cocktail with a lime wedge. Simple as that!
No matter which mule, Jamaican or Moscow, becomes your favourite, you are in for a cocktail delight that will have everyone asking for the recipe at your next party!
