Bramble - The Perfect Gin Cocktail

Another delicious creation by legendary Dick Bradsell - this time he takes snippets of his childhood memories to deliver this thirst quenching cocktail.

INGREDIENTS
2 oz / 60 ml gin
3/4 oz / 22.5 ml lemon juice
1/4 oz / 7.5 ml simple syrup
1/2 oz / 15 ml creme de mure

Made one of these last week. One of my favorite gin cocktails.

Where I come from a bramble is muddled berries, gin or bourbon, citrus juice, and ice but also syrup or a liqueur like crème de cassis or Chambord instead of the syrup. However if I am using bourbon I like to use a cheap port instead of the liqueur. Port lets the berries do the talking and bourbon bring the sweet.
