Boulevardier - The perfect 3 ingredient cocktail

preview_player
Показать описание
Initially served as equal part of the three ingredients - time has seen this cocktail evolve to a more spirit forward drink with many bartenders preferring to use a rye whiskey for a slightly spicier version.

INGREDIENTS
1 1/4 oz / 37.5 ml bourbon whiskey
1 oz / 30 ml Campari
1 oz / 30 ml sweet vermouth

I do 1 1/2 bourbon, 3/4 sweet vermouth, and 3/4 Aperol and flame the orange oil

I usually prefer 2:1:1 ratio - not as sweet, but still has all flavours of campari and vermouth.

In North America the predominate ratio is 1.5 oz. bourbon. 3/4 campari, 3/4 sweet Vermouth

Can use use Aperol instead of Campari? If so, any tweaks that need to be made?

interesting, I thought 3/3/3 were the 'official' ratios.

One of the classics that I wish I liked but just tastes like cough syrup. Loving the book though!

Idk why but am I the only one who doesn’t like this drink at all??? I keep seeing these amazing reviews for it but when I try it I feel like it tastes like malort?

My favorite cocktail, but that ratio isn't the best. 1.25 to 1 on the bourbon to red bitter will work if you're using a milder bitter such as Aperol, but that ratio using Campari, you lose any of the flavor profile of the bourbon. A 2 to 1 ratio works much better.

"Boulevardier" is pronounced "bool-VARD-dee-yay" or "bool-VARD-zhay". The last "r" isn’t pronounced. 🤣
