I taped a PDF pattern together once about 10 years ago and vowed I would never do it again. I finally got tired of having my patterns printed at a copy shop as the prices continue to rise every year. I went on eBay and bought a cheap used projector and trace my own patterns on any paper I want. I must say I'm very impressed that sublime grafx can print on tissue paper and the price seems right. These are compelling points. I have not yet tried using a large format service, partly because I am an instant gratification junkie — kind of silly, because it takes a LOT of time to stick all of those pages together, particularly for large patterns, but mostly because my sewing friends have had different experiences, from widely varying costs to complicated ordering processes and even limited choices in how many layers can be selected for printing. I was a confirmed “paper-taper, ” but after watching this, I’m going to try large format with this company. Thank you ❤️

thanks for the tips. I don't mind putting the pages together. I usually glue them together. But I totally get the points you make. I may do this for some of those pdf patterns that I love and make often. I do find it to be a pest when you try to reuse a pieced together pattern.

I was Team Print at Home since I started using PDF patterns … then I learned there is a large format printer in my town. PDF Plotting (a division of Keith Fabry) prints my patterns on blue print type paper. I like getting all of the sizes printed so I can reuse the pattern later. I recently traced (yes, I am Team Trace) a jacket, made the muslin and found it to be too large. I was able to retrace two sizes smaller and make a great, well-fitting jacket. I tossed the big pattern and saved the correct size with my large format pages (I use mailing tubes). I use medical exam table paper from Amazon. I save ink, paper, tape, time and aggravation!

Has anyone tried the project patterns. It seems that would answer the problem of waiting for the tissue pattern coming from the printer, but you can project it right on the material or on a tissue if you wanted.
