Homemade Electrolyte Drink LMNT Recipe

In this video we make a homemade electrolyte drink using the LMNT recipe. This can save you a lot of money.

I use 20 ounces or water in my water bottle. The LMNT wesbite reccommends anywhere from 16-32 ounces. The less water...the more salty it will be.

1/2 teaspoon salt
400 mg Potassium Chloride
1/4 teaspoon Magnesium Malate

Here's some links (Amazon Affiliate) to all the stuff I used in case you want to try making it at home.

I love this video as it contains no selling, no 20-minute life experiences, and explains in a language we can all understand.
Thank you

You also might want to try Redmond's real salt. It's really good

Thank you all for the likes ☺️

I like to mix up a batch of 120 which works out at 400g Salt, 50g Potassium Chloride, 100g Magnesium Malate. I then just put 1 teaspoon in one of my drink bottles for the day. Thanks very much Hossy for the recipe.

I mix my electrolytes in the proper ratios in a 1/2 pt. mason jar then just measure out a calculated combined amount in a dipper into whatever drink container I want to use at the moment. Much easier than measuring out individual doses of the individual ingredients for each drink.

As a person who is now broke, but conscious about my health ( Im now beginning carnivore on a budget) I really appreciate this video. Some of those ingredients I even found it in Marshalls at even more affordable price! Thanks!!

I use 1/4 teaspoon great value NO SALT it's the same potassium as LMNT, 1/2 tsp. Pink salt, 1/2 tsp. Magnesium (not citrate) and I also add creatine 5 grams. like you it's a fraction of the cost! I load them 30 at a time into used zip fiz containers.

LMNT flavored products contain maltodextrin not openly disclosed. It is included in "0ther flavors/ingredients". LMNT is allowed to do this because the government considers it a safe additive. If you are sensitive to maltodextrin, be aware that it is in the LMNT flavored products. You can make your own and know exactly what is in it for less money.

Thank you so much! I've found myself wanting to buy the Elements brand but have changed my mind because of the price, so I am definitely going to be making this!

My bank account thanks you. Instead of individual portions I'm going to mix it up and into small container and just use a spoon to take out one portion at a time. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Thanks for the advise. I did the same but, LOL, I have found a better way. Multiply the amount of the 3 ingredients printed on the label by 100 and then mix is all up in one (1) larger container, preferably made from glass so you won't get the micro-plastics into your body. When you need home made LMNT, just take a teaspoon and mix it with water. There is no need to measure the ingredients into tiny cups. Usually, electrolytes come in a big container except for LMNT.

I'm the queen of frugal and started making my own a year ago. Also I'm a purist and don't want the flavors and stevia in LMNT. I like to control my daily salt and potassium ratio in my diet and activity levels that change seasonally.

Cool! Didn’t know their recipe—thanks! Do something similar everyday after my coffee: Fresh squeeze juice of one lemon, 2 tablespoons of ACV, pinch of salt (1/4 teaspoon) top the tall glass off with water and take my potassium, magnesium….and Zinc in capsules. Almost as important as my morning coffee! 😉

Thank you for the recipe breakdown! I’ve been wanting to use an electrolyte beverage for a while now, but my budget just wasn’t there. I’ve been using this recipe for a week now and it makes a difference in my runs and in my everyday life.

I pack of E-mergency immune, 1/4 tsp celtic salt. 4 oz. organic, non-concentrated tart cherry juice and a 12 oz. can of spindrift sparkling water over ice. Delicious and healthy. You're welcome.
