How to Find Time to Write

It's not always easy to find time to write - many indie authors have full-time jobs and family commitments that need to come first. So how can an indie author squeeze in enough time to write a full novel?

I've found Michael La Ronn's ideas about finding time to write in the cracks in your life really useful. Those 10 minute segments here and there, chipping away a few words at a time. To this end getting Scrivener on my iPhone was the best investment I ever made.

I work a demanding full-time job, but I come in early and write before work and then write over my lunch hour. I've started fitting in a 20-30 minute writing sprint at night.

You can write novels day after day but with non-fiction, we often get caught going over and over the content to make it better. So I suggest taking just five minutes to review the past chapter. I find my time to write when all client work is done.
