I love these tips! Other things are:

-saying no to non-essential tasks and meetings

-productive procrastination. When you're not making art, watch tv or read books that inspire and inform your art by teaching you more about your subject matter

Put down the phone. You’ll have plenty of time.

I'm very good at making a schedule, making sure I start practicing on time, going to bed, exercising, trying to keep healthy, etc. But what do you do when you're working on a project and every ounce of energy is sapped from you? You have the half done painting in front of you, you have your coffee next to you, everything's ready, and when you pick up the wacom pen you just hold it. And stare at the painting. You were prepared, you woke up early to get the job done, it's time to draw but... Nothing. Zero will to strive for your dream. I have the want, I have the how, but I'm stopping myself at the last minute and I don't know how to jump over this hurdle, no amount of inspirational speech and drive works

I do exactly the opposite at work between projects(I work at a factory), every time I'm about to switch to a new build..." IT'S TIME TO SLACK! Let me spend two hours cleaning my desk, getting new parts, running errands... OH?! Is it the end of the day? Oh my goodness where does the time go!" xD.

I read the thumbnail as “How to find more time to do RAT” and the image, though not a rat, is a rodent so it made me think that is actually what it said. I clicked it confused and extremely curious as to what “doing RAT” could possibly be. Then I reread it and felt kind of dumb. But it was funny so I’ll share for you all to get in on the laugh. 😂

By the way, it was a very good video and it was still interesting despite not being about anything rat related.

I've recently changed up my routine so I can spare at least an hour each day. Been a good time ◉‿◉

I just learned a lot about life even though we're only talking about art

Normally I really love your talks but the way you describe having value or no value is upsetting here. We are not our productivity, my dude.

What were you doing? *checks Switch* … “200 hours spent playing BotW” 😬 Gotta love that log time, really reminds you of how much time could have been saved! Every minute is valuable. Thanks for the reminder, Bobby!

I just want to add a bit to what has been said:

Try to make the most of each day, but when you do step away from drawing to take break, don't feel the need to be guilty of each minute you're not drawing and take the time to properly take care of yourself too. Also, when you do decide to take time away from something to draw, make sure to properly think about what it is you're taking time away from (Don't just suddenly strip your friends and family of your time). I think it's important to assess things with your own value system as well. For example, to some social media might be just really a distraction from their goals, but if it really brings you some sort of fulfillment, then don't just deprive yourself entirely of it. As long as you keep your time well managed and balanced, you will get closer to your goals. On a final note, if you somehow find yourself really struggling to draw X amount of hours each day, don't be led into thinking there's something wrong with you or that you don't love drawing enough. As you get yourself more into art, you'll also find yourself more comfortable to put in more hours. As much as we should spend time to improve our skills as artists, I think we should also just take the time to enjoy the art journey. I wish everyone all the best in their art journey :)

P.S.
Terribly sorry for my senseless and stupid comment I made earlier. I was terribly disorganized with my thoughts that I ended up going totally off-topic and saying things I totally didn't meant.

This is awesome! I started watching your videos when the covid-19 lockdowns started. So a lot of my start up, motivation, and knowledge I owe to you (and schoolism, of course) thank you for never stopping the encouragement of artists across the globe! ❤️ I hope to meet you and Masae one day!

This video made me realise, that I am already spending every minute I have and that made me sad. I wish we could have more than 24 hours per day.

i am a sucker for the 'I don't have anytime' as well. I remember you did a video a while ago where you showed your schedule for the day and I was like...wow crazy. But now I'm starting to get tired of not getting where I want and wasting so much time on unnecessary tasks and chores. I've even had schoolism for about 3 years and haven't finished a course! its so eye opening and I really want to change the way I do things. More inspirational videos pls!!!

ALSO - I had an idea for a course, I'd really like to see if you could do a course on either 'comics/children's book illustration' or 'colour' or 'the art of the pencil', only cause I find that illustration and the raw skill to put pencil to paper will never go out the window, but I would love to learn more about how to utilize coloured pencils. But that's my thoughts :)
