i just put the socket on the ground and whack it with a hammer lol

So sometimes you can just smack the side of the socket with a hammer. A good way to avoid doing this is to not use standard sockets on metric bolts or metric sockets on standard bolts

Put the vice grips on the NUT. Put your socket on a wrench... the nut and socket are stuck from loosening (counterclockwise) ... so wrench it against the vice grips the opposite direction.. clockwise.. .. no further damage to your socket.

You know you can tighten too much so it’s actually pinching the nut by deforming the socket. I guess you can just make sure to grab it close to the drive end. But usually I just tighten the nut onto a bolt and it’ll pop loose. It happens with lug nuts a decent amount. It’s usually because they’re so tight it slightly strips the nut so it binds. So yeah by tightening it it’ll pop it loose and you usually don’t have to tighten it as much as it was originally so it doesn’t get stuck when you loosen it back up.

Doesn’t anyone own a bench vise anymore? Put the nut in the bench vise and use your ratchet to go the opposite direction it got stuck..

Easier method:
Put an extension on the socket
Now put on the ground & hammer the socket !
3 wacks & it's out
Vixe grip to vice grip?
That's a first

Or you can add a nut the same size and thread, inset bolt through both and once the bolt touches the bottom of the nut that stuck in the socket you can tighten the second nut to the one stuck in the socket. After tightening it, just put the vice grips or a vice, then turn the bolt in the opposite direction you took the original nut off, and it should move enough to just fall out (mind you to point the bolt to the floor, or else as your turning the bolt pick it up a bit and it should break free)

I normally just hold socket and tap around it and it usually comes out

Yo man i watch loads of your videos and you've taught me a lot. The easiest way to sort this isnt direct force its percussive force you need, a good tap on the socket with a hammer would have worked too. Loved the video anyways, visegrip the visegrips 😂

If you would’ve just tightened the bolt it woulda pushed the socket off.. two wrenches 🥴

Normally I just start pounding on it with my impact

Or just tighten the bolt in the nut and push it out of the socket.
