144,000 Anointed, 2 Witnesses and The Sun Clothed in Sackcloth

The book of Revelation tells us about two witnesses that will prophesy for 1260 days with the power of fire that proceeds from their mouth to devour those that wish them harm. 

This post will investigate who these witnesses are and provide an alternative to the common understanding. Many people speculate that these two witnesses might be Moses and Elijah because of the miracles they are said to perform, or Enoch and Elijah because they were the only two previously taken without death. 

I believe the two witness are the 144,000 from the two houses of Israel (Northern and Southern Kingdom). 

These witnesses are sealed (anointed) before the fall of Babylon the Great (USA) and are therefore protected for 1260 days in the midst of the tribulation before they are called up at the midpoint of the tribulation.

I woke up this morning contemplating who the two witnesses were and that they could be the 144, 000. Then this pops into my feed! I also came to the conclusion the black horse seal includes the sealing of the 144 and that Joel 2 includes nuclear war (columns, with a palm tree like spreading, of smoke.) check out the earthquake resurrection connection. I really like your thinking. It’s time to reevaluate the scripture and this topic and so many are stuck in one of the traditional interpretations.

Much of the Bible is written in Chiastic format. This supports your understanding of parable of 72 in Luke.

In Luke 9:1 the twelve are sent out to "cure diseases". In 10:51 it talks about Jesus time "to be taken up to heaven". Then in Luke Ch 10 sends out the 72 who are instructed to "heal the sick".

Chiasm:
- Twelve sent out to heal.
- Taken to heaven (Jesus/church)
- 72 sent out to heal in tribulation

The end time harvest is in reverse order of the original twelve apostles being sent out.

Larger picture: Salvation started with the Jews, church in the middle, and ends with the Jews (144, 000).

Just found this channel. Interesting study. Thought: the Joel 2 mighty ones…are they not the 144? They can scale walls like David and his mighty men, they fall upon the sword and do not die, and the LORD is at the head of the army. Jesus is our captain, the commander of the LORD’s army. Psalm 18 is also pictured here with darkness and the LORD leading the charge and David and his army able to run like a deer and scale walls and break a bronze bow. His army was 288000…144000x2.

could the time of the two witnesses be in the time of the 5th trumpet where smoke comes up out of the bottomless pit and the sun and air will be darkened, i dont know how long after the 5th angel sounds his trumpet that the 2 witnesses rise up, but they are killed by the beast that rises up out of that bottomless pit after the bottomless pit is opened

Think about this...
144000 are firstfruits...Shavout.
In temple - 2 stacks of bread (12 total) before the Lord always!! Zech 4:14 these 2 anointed ones stand beside the Lord of the whole earth

I believe the 144K contains Messianic Israelites (from 11 tribes) and Born Again gentils who love the Torah (from tribe of Joseph = Mashiah Ben Yossef = prince of Egypt = prince of the nations). The 144K is the next group of people to be raptured before the tribulation as per prophesied by the Feast of first fruits (Shavuot) in the Torah. The first rapture was the rapture of Jesus on the day of his resurrection (John 20:17) as per prophesied by the Feast of first sheaf (Bikkourim) in the Torah. The last rapture will be the reaping of the earth at the end of the tribulation where the “people and kindreds and tongues and nations” mentioned in the book of Revelation represent the 4 species (boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook) prophesied in the Feast of ingathering.
The Torah said in Deut 16:16 ”Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread (with feast of first sheaf on the falling shabbat), and in the feast of weeks (feast of first fruit), and in the feast of tabernacles (feast of ingathering): and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:“. The fulfillment of these 3 feasts is the 3 raptures in order to appear before God in the Temple in heaven 😇😇😇.

Ive heard the 144, 000 is not literal number but a way of saying a vast number of people. I do believe they are the witnesses and not simply 2 men.

The 2 witnesses are killed & their dead bodies lay in the street & they were not buried. People celebrate. They are brought back to life after 3 1/2 yrs & God called them to come up here. I'd like to suggest the 1, 000yr reign is in Heaven, during Tribulation. " And judgement was given to them." The ones raptured, will go through the books & know the Lord was just in deciding why the wicked could not be saved. In bible prophecy, a day is a year. His throne is in Heaven.
