Former Jehovah's Witness elder/bethelite is discussing his own personal experience about what he knows about the practices and policies of the Watchtower, Bible & Tract Society.

In this video, we use critical thinking to examine the teaching of Jehovah’s Witnesses where they state that the Biblical reference of 144,000 people that will go to heaven is a literal number. According to the Watchtower, there has only been the Heavenly Calling for anyone who became a Christian from the 1st century up to the 19th century. We demonstrate that if this teaching is true, it means that Jesus Christ had less than 144,000 disciples following him from Pentecost of 33 C.E. up to the 19th century. But you have to ask the “critical thinking question” is this teaching supported by historical records?
We demonstrate how the Watchtower uses historical records and data discussing how individuals became Christians throughout the years. However, when the number of people outnumbers their literal 144,000 teaching, they changed their opinion about those people, thus referring to them as professed Christians.

The only JW critics that I can stand. Always upbeat and well intended. Never putting anyone else down gratuitously, respectful of everyone. Never getting upset or ranting. We always learn something new. These videos are always a joy to watch.

This has truly helped me. I was raised in the teaching of JW...got baptized...defellowshipped twice...placed on public reproof and private. I stopped going in 2004. I always felt guilty about stumbling as a JW and being labeled bad association. I did not study with or raise my daughter with the same teachings although we went to the kingdom hall until she was 10. I wrestled with the thoughts of going back because "it's the truth". My mom died 2 years ago and my family kept telling me to get myself together so I can see my mom again in the new system. I seriously cried because I love my mom but always questioned this religion. After watching your videos has helped me know I'm not crazy or a horrible person for questioning this religion. I can rest knowing I will not be returning to the kingdom hall.

I had a lot of these critical questions in my head, told by the elders to dismiss them as doubts from the devil, yet its all common sense do the math!!! Then if you talk of them to others you are deemed apostate and shunned. Such power these men have. Keep up the good work.

Beautifully explained. No malice just excellent reasoning. I feel so sad for all the dear brothers and sisters who were denied their calling. My mother was Jewish and lost out on the vine . My father came out of SDA and lost out on the olive tree grafting. Lets hope Our Lord who knows all things disentangles this mess for the generation trapped now in wtower. I remember questioning articles when I was a kid and my mom shut me up quickly and said that was dangerous thinking. 😲 Thank goodness we all are out of that foolishness! Including my mom. We laugh about it now.

I remember asking my bible teacher this question when he invited the CO over to my house, and when I raised the question he shut me down and said "We discussed this subject!" They could change the 144, 000 to symbolic but prefer to keep the 2 class distinction. They desperately need to keep the organisation subordinate to the clergy (GB). Great work guys

Thanks for your video! This issue has always bothered me throughout the 25+ years when I was a Jehovah's Witness mainly concerning those "worthy" of partaking of the bread and the wine being only the Anointed

This is actually the teaching that woke me up. I read Romans 8. Did research. Realised that the teaching is unbiblical. Then decided to leave. When I was chatting with the elders to tell them that i am disassociating, we discussed this topic. Their arguments were generic and when I countered all their reasonings on it, "such as if the 144000 is literal them how come the 12 tribes it is made of aren't?" Or Rev 19 where it says the great crowd are in heaven, the elders couldn't answer. They actually stopped wanting to discuss scripture. They asked me whether i was drinking from the cup of Satan after that, to which I replied that if I want to leave because of the bible then Jehovah was leading me away. To which they said I was arrogant for thinking I know better than 8 million witness to which I replied "then arent the witnesses arrogant for claiming to know more that the catholic church?". They left. They were in it for the emotion not because the bible is true. That is why they will never discuss the bible deeply. They seek the hope that the Governing Body gives them not truth.

Thanks so much for this Video. My Wife and myself woke up after 37years as their member and start to Researches the Teachings of JW. 2019 came an Article in the Watchtower which said that the Governing Bodies are not inspired by God. So, we started to think that if they are not inspired, who gave them all the Untruthful Teachings they have been giving us all these Years. We are all in these Years being told to burn Books which are no more needed for the new Light. We know know that their starting to cover their Untruthful Teachings. So bye Dec 2029 we left the Cult after 37years of using our Time, Energy, money etc to served them. Many people here in Germany where we leaved and served are now waking up with the Teachings of the Cult

I remember when we encountered a person in field service who we deemed mentally unstable or especially hostile we were advised to write the person's address down and report it to the elders. The elders would then advise all the brothers and sisters working that street to bypass that address in the future. JT and Lady C, your address is about to be added to the list! JT And Lady C. I’ve downloaded all your podcasts so far and listen to them on my way to work. I drive an hour one way to work. I’ve laughed out loud so often at your show. And I thank you for voicing some of what I want to say. It validates me as an xjw. I’m a 4th generation born in fully shunned. I’d rather be alone and true to myself than living a lie in the organisation.
