Jehovah's Witnesses CAN'T Answer My Questions! Only 144,000 Go to Heaven??

During my "book study" with two Jehovah's Witnesses I asked them about the upcoming Memorial and the reason they cannot partake in the Lord's Supper. This opened up the discussion to them teaching me about the Watchtower's two class system: the 144,000 Anointed Class/Little Flock who go to heaven and the Earthly /Great Crowd who spends eternity on paradise earth. We covered:

I didn't include this, but at the end they asked me "How were you raised?". I let them know that I was a Christian and wasn't raised a JW. They were so relieved! The lady said, "I'm so glad you are a Christian." LOL. I think they were thinking that I was an apostate. DUN DUN DUN! They're used to recruiting "Christians." So no biggie for them.

What a BRILLIANT strategy for witnessing, have the lost willingly coming to you! I was devastated to loose my mother to the JW’s. She moved out of state and simple shared the “good news” by phone, that she was having Bible studies in her home. She knew I would be assuming based on our strong Christian faith … & let me think that for 6 years. She was fearful for me to know the truth of what she was doing. She hid all literature when we visited. I witnessed the truth to her whenever possible. She died u expectedly, without me ever knowing how her faith journey ended. Soooo much pain in my heart for a precious mother that I adored! The JW’s were “ lovely” people. Soooo good to her …….

You’re doing a great job on your “bible study”; which is really a book study in their view. I was formally a JW since age 11, but finally realized I was in a cult at the age of 26. I’m so glad I got out! But when I tried to talk with my mom and sister about specific beliefs, it always came down to them telling me that I’m being confrontational. That was always what they said, when they realized they couldn’t answer something that the “organization” teaches; versus the Bible. But wow, that woman is so annoying. She keeps interrupting and over talking her husband! Great job!

A very good discussion Hannah, that showed you had respect for them, while 'reasoning from the scriptures' and you had them thinking about their beliefs.

You asked, 'who introduced that teaching?' In the early 1900s those who were associating with the 'bible students' as they were called then - started to reach the 144, 000 mark.
If only 144, 000 are going to heaven - what do we do with all these other believers? The paradise on earth doctrine came into play.

And wait until you show them in Revelation 7: that the 144, 000 are still on earth at their Armageddon while the Great Crowd are in heaven standing before God, in the naos, Greek for the holy of holy's.

When Jesus told his disciples to “keep doing this in remembrance of me”, they were not anointed. The Holy Spirit came down and anointed them 40 days later, at Pentecost. So JWs can’t say that only people who are anointed are supposed to partake, when that was not the case with the 1st century followers of Christ.

I asked a JW about the pictures of the 144, 000 in the brochures. My question was, if the 144, 000 is men and women from all walks of life, all nations, why do the pictures only show old white men with beards? Where is the diversity? The truth should tell and depict the truth, right? Well, I got attitude and was told "Its just a picture, its the message thats important" uhh, no ma'am, the two should be in harmony with each other. Don't give me a book about kittens and the pictures have pit bulls, wheres the connection?!?! I was told to contact the WTS with my concerns because that wasnt their department but calling out inconsistencies in other religions is 😂😂😂 I had to leave this religion alone because I had way too many questions that they just couldn't answer and I wasnt down with having my life micro managed.

Can you imagine being a witness for a long time talking 144k that will rule in heaven and yet they will have to go do research just to be able to answer simple question. And I'm guessing the man is elder, he cannot even explain this simple thing that they preach every damn day. Thats crazy

I have been studying with so JWs November on and off. Regarding the 144, 000, that is the only thing they take literal from that verse because if they were consistent with context, it would only be virgin men who are from the 12 tribes that are going to be part 144, 000. Of course, there are two tribes listed that are not tribes at all. It shows that it is all symbolic. You might be interested in video I put out recently that completely destroys the 1914 date. The guys I was studying with could not answer my arguments about that date. I I will give the name of the video as I know Youtube may flag a link.
