Join me as I review an essay I wrote while fully indoctornated by Watchtower and trying to understand why the number of memorial Partakers was increasing over the years. For years Jehovah's Witnesses were told the "Generation of 1914" would not pass away before The Great Tribulation, but because of changes in doctrine, they shot themselves in the foot.

I remember being completely confused, disappointed, and suspicious when the generation teaching was changed to refer to the "wicked" generation of people. It made no sense to me whatsoever and I had a gut feeling that it was an attempt to buy time.

I cannot believe you made a video about this subject! This was the very thing that I first questioned the elders in my Hall about. First of all, the reason the Memorial partakers has been going up every year is because many people have had their eyes opened that Jesus told his followers to “keep doing this in remembrance of me.” That was to partake, not just sit and observe. So, many Witnesses have begun to partake, that didn’t used to previously.
I approached one elder in my Hall in 1981, and told him “the Governing Body members are all getting old now. You have to be of the Anointed to be on the GB. If they find a way to start letting people of the Great Crowd on the GB, that will be my cue to get out of this religion. That would mean that Armageddon might not come for another 100 years.” I had no idea that they were going to let people younger and younger claim to be Anointed, and be on the GB. They used to teach that 1935 was the cut off year.
In a 1987 Watchtower, they came out with the story of the Nethinim. These were people who were not Levites, but were allowed into the Most Holy of the Temple at certain times to perform ministerial duties. In the same way, they were going to start to allow other brothers who are not anointed perform some of the responsibilities of the GB. I looked right at that elder and said after the meeting “this is EXACTLY what I was telling you 6 years ago!”
Because I was newly married at that time, I felt bad leaving the Organization, with my wife still being an active member, so I hung around for an additional 5 years. I was a fully, completely awake PIMO those 5 years, even though I got appointed a Ministerial Servant in that time. Finally, in 1992, I had enough. But that was the subject that began to open my eyes.

I DA’d in 1994. I recall saying to the elders, “the generation doctrine will be the death of the GB, they will be forced to do philosophical acrobatics to change it.”
Wow, how I was amused watching their Cirque du Soleil over the subsequent years!

Small point on this that makes me believe they know they are scammers is that geritt loche was part of the previous lot of GB, having been on the body since 94, he's literally been in on the flip flops, it's not been just a case of new body new understanding.

This is what happens when the members are discouraged from getting an education, they don't see the discrepancy. When I found out in 2016 the teaching had changed no one could explain it to me. By then I had heard about the child sex abuse and knew I could never go back.

Very thorough and thoughtful analysis. When in 1995 they changed the generation doctrine I was like Ok but when they kept changing it and adjusting it to the need to keep it's members in check I started to question everything about them and it's been so for a 6 month period. The problem is that i was so obedient, strongly believing everything in there, living in constant fear and in the meantime i wasted my entire life. Failed marriage, love I had rejected because she was not a witness these things had taken its severe toll on my mental health. It's disgusting and I don't know if life is really worth living in my early 40 or should I end it hopelessly hoping for better life.

Great video! The reason none of the witnesses you shared that info with were interested is because 95% of witnesses don’t care if the teachings and doctrines are correct. It’s their life - community, friends, family etc. they don’t think about these things because their subconscious won’t allow them to. And even if you show them proof, they make excuses and say but it’s still gods organization because they don’t have any other choice. So sad.

I remember when Splain was Splaining the new Generation idea. I was at my brothers house with a lot of family and they decided to watch the broadcast together. I sat there watching this video laughing in amazement that the Governing body wont give it up. I said out loud "This is ridiculous. They should just let it go. They dont know." My family looked at me like an apostate.
Now I understand that Jesus gave signs. He called them "a beginning of birth pains but the end is NOT yet". Jesus was saying these "signs" are like Braxton Hicks contractions but the generation that sees all these "signs" one after another after another, like real contractions, wont pass away and will see the birth of the kingdom.
All the "signs" Jesus gave, starting with the one Watchtower loves to skip- "many will come in my name to decieve many(white horseman)" are the four horseman in order.(Matt 24)
