I wanted to cook something extravagant for the holidays, so I spent a few days making prime rib and some really fun side dishes, like 15-hour potatoes, creamed spinach, horseradish cream, and creamed corn.

Alvin, I don't know what you could possibly be cooking that would take 6 months, but I'm sure it will be amazing! Seriously though, I hope you are well. Come back soon. :)

The shot of the chopped, steamed spinach was absolutely too beautiful. You're some kind of gastronomical warlock.

I really cannot describe how this video made me feel. It combines all of my favorite things - good food, beautiful cinematography, editing and color grading, lofi music and some genuine humor.

I was so invested by the time you cut the prime rib, that I got emotional seeing how perfectly cooked it was. I can't believe I got to watch this for free.

I love how in all the channels he cooks on, like tasty or binging with babish he always does the most extravagant things, but here its just calm and peaceful.

I've never, i repeat never saw anyone make spinach look that appetizing in my life and I love how bold Alvin is for wearing a white shirt everytime he cooks

The humour, the camera angles, the mouth-watering imagery and presentation of the artwork. Fair to say, this actually made me quite emotional. Thank you.

Never thought of using a fork to avoid accidentally destroying your hand while using a mandoline. Thanks for the tip! And beautiful food as always (:

I like how they're certain details in this video that aren't often mentioned. They manage to capture a piece of media with extremely well done cinematography and production complexity without the stiffness that often comes with a process as systematic as editing of this calibre which only serves to enhance the "homemade" aspect of the project by including the aspect of sharing with your friends or needing more coffee after some work or even the dread of only getting a handful of spinach from a full $10 and since it lacks the cluttered and untidy finish that homemade pieces normally have they strike a difficult balance between the two making this the closest thing I've seen to a masterpiece in a long time.

Alvin's really coming into his own with these videos. They're so good and have such a clear narrative and stylistic voice, it is truly impressive. Not to mention delicious.

My family made a prime rib for Christmas today and we made a garlic, thyme compound butter on it and then put some vegetables with the prime rib while it was cooking. Those vegetables tasted euphoric; they were probably the best part of the meal, even better than the prime rib itself!
