I flew the F-14 at VF-213, NAS Miramar, 1986-1990, USS Enterprise, CVN-65. This is music to my ears. I'm an "old guy" now. Flying the Boeing 777 for American. I miss these days - some of the best in my life!

Now imagine working 14-16 hours a day, two, three months straight, before maybe four or five days in port, one of which you give up for "duty" in case the ship has to leave in a moments notice. These sailors, soldiers, marines, do this. They are the ones who guarantee our freedom.. NEVER forget such a sacrifice.

As an 80s kids, just love these songs, and Top Gun! Much respect for the big F14 Tomcat! I've great admiration and respect to the dedication of those who continue to serve, and have served in the US Navy, and the other vital arms of the US military services, that protect all of us in the western world. Love the FA18 Super Hornet! Cheers from the South Pacific where we don't have much in the way of a military force.

Early twenties when the movie came out, now it reminds of how old I am. Enterprise, A6, A7, F14, Sea kings and Sea knights all retired. Not to mention when my base shut down they took over Miramar so fighter town is now a MCAS! Great times and great memories.

I took my daughter to see Top Gun when it first came out. My wife said she wouldn't like it. Ha! Francine ate it up. Course she'd been raised around aircraft as I was aircrewman on EC-121Ms, EP-3Es and EA-3B Whales. She toured all of them when she was younger.

I was on active duty when this movie was on the big screen. My young wife and I watched it at the theater on base in West Germany! Hell yeah! Good times! No kids -yet...

I enjoyed this. My father served during WW II and Korean conflict, sister retired from Air Force. I use to wonder why we were involved in other countries and their problems. I came to realize that if we, who are strong, don't help those who ask for help and need it, then sooner or later we'll have to deal with it in our country. Countries have tried and failed to take us by force and/or by coercion, intimidation, and we've been blessed with the strength of character and manpower to be able to overcome, thereby, able to help others who are being over ran by dictators who are radical and socialist or communist. Russia, Germany, China, North Korea, North Vietnam, Iran, Iraq, South America just to name a few who are so cruel and sadistic that the people cry out for help. Our country works because we have a constitution that protects the people.

I can still remember my son wanting to watch the beginning of Top Gun so he could dance like the men on Top Gun before he went to bed. He and his bear would dance. Then I would turn the TV off and he was ready for bed. For some reason Top Gun made his day. I am surprised he is not a pilot or in the Navy. He is a Marine the few the proud the Marines. And his mother loves him and will always remember when he was little the night dance of "Top Gun'.
