Video taken from the Blu-ray version of the movie. Also ads are occasionally being shown as YouTube recognised that this is from Top Gun and feels that it is necessary to have ads. I would like to turn them off but it is out of my power.

For those who have seen Maverick, wow. Never has a sequel done justice to its origin like this new movie’s intro. Some of the intro shots were like stepping back into a time machine. Truly shows the love for the original the whole crew must’ve had.

I'm here after seeing Top Gun: Maverick and all I got to say is that I freakin loved the movie. The fact that it's starts out just like this was enough to make me love it already. The cast was great, the stunts were incredible and I just loved the story. For those who don't know, Cruise put the actors through some tough training and actually had them in the backseats of the F-18s during filming. Love or hate him, the man can make a hell of a film.

Having seen the original numerous times starting with when it first came out, sitting in the theater to see Top Gun Maverick & it starts with this intro had me holdin back tears for sure, both movies were awesome...

I don't care what anyone says, this intro is why home theatre systems were designed, if you didn't play this first on your system you should just stick to the TV speakers. THAT, and it’s the most pumped, charged, F#%€ING legendary opening EVER!!

Interesting fact: The F-14As used in this video had the old Pratt Whitney TF-30 engines that required full after burn for the catapult launch. Each engine made 20, 000 lbs of thrust. The updated "bombcat" F-14D was fitted with much more powerful GE-110 engines that made 28, 000 lbs for thrust each. It did not require a full afteburn catapult launch. The launch does not look nearly as cool as it did with the F-14A with the full after burn lit up, but the engines were so powerful on the F-14D, it did not need full after burn even if it looked way less cooler.

I always enjoy watching the crew members of the aircraft carrier all working as a team to make sure those planes get in the air. Everybody has a specific job, and when you get to watch them do it like this, it really goes to show just how coordinated the members have to be. I love it!
