Fun fact. I served on board the USS WM. H. Standly CG-32 formally DGL-32. It was one of the ship's patches that Tom Cruze had on his leather jacket. The ship was one of the vessels that worked with this movie when they were shooting on the USS Ranger. Also, my last name is McGillis, and although it is a very uncommon name, we are not directly related as far as I know. I went to Boot Camp about 8 months after this movie, everybody was asking me if I was related to Kelly McGillis.

37 years, and this song with aeronautics Film, gets me feeling pumped for a couple of hours . This is the perfect example of why some 'Hollywood' films cost millions to make . Every freaking detail is looked into . These are the best technicians, ARTISTS at 20 different areas of expertise, unbelievable stunt people, AND those who risk a load of money to finance this beautiful ART . SO many aren't known well . Pinewood, G.B., Bond (!) are super - bad, too . And I love 'Bollywood' as well, for Romantic (less Tawdry!) films with dance/musicals . Thank you all . Even as a layman, I have some idea of the sweat you put into art that is uplifting .
