That pinch grip is an excellent way to bring a long life to a short end.

Pinch grip is for people who’ve given up on living or are very confident

Never heard of any of these. I have been using the classic bodybuilding grip the last 15 years. No issues

Bench pressing's been too intimidating for me (tried, it felt really off), but none of those beginner form tips actually explained the mechanism of the grip. No wonder it felt like I couldn't find a consistent answer on form.

Then there is the forgidden “no thumbs” method… that too many folks still use and is always a slip away from a fractured sternum.

The final option is what feels comfortable and natural to you.

But what if doing it wrong feels better?

Huh, I always wondered how some folks ended up with sprained wrists on bench press. Makes sense now.

I found that a thicker bar makes it easier to keep wrist alignment.

So, in all my years of lifting, which I no longer do, I always focused on having the slant grip when doing chest work on benches. I felt like it gave me an easier way to focus my lifting on my pecs rather than my triceps. Now I lifted for 20 years before I decided I no longer wanted to body build but I’m happy to see that people are being given information that is solid to help their bodybuilding journey. I also liked dumbbells more than benches and barbells because I could then really focus on the muscle group(s) I was working. Thanks for this informative video and others that this channel puts out.

Neutral wrist method is definitely best. Find the way to keep your wrist straight and solid. I’ve been struggling to get the 2plate consistency. But watching many of these has helped drastically. Wrist straps also helps because it feels awkward after a tons of wrong movement. One you have the feel. You can do it without. When you progress, continue with straps, it’s better for progress and risk of no injury.
