Does refresh rate affect FPS? This is a common question many gamers ask.
Some gamers wonder if a monitor’s refresh rate or a TV’s refresh rate is the same as FPS. But, will the refresh rate of your monitor affect your game’s frame rate?
Are refresh rate and FPS independent of each other? In fact, how does monitor refresh rate affect frame rate?
This video answers these questions in detail.

I just wanna let those gamers out there know, if u get like 200 fps on a game and ur monitor is only 60hz u are actually viewing ur game in 60fps. Sure ur pc is getting 200 frames per second but your monitor can only handle displaying 60 frames per second cuz it’s 60hz

Short Summary: Your FPS matters on GPU your refresh rate is dependent on your monitor. Two different things you will not get an FPS boost.

Hi,
i have a question, i have a gaming laptop with rtx 2080 max q 8gb graphics card, but on games i get no more then 60 fps because my screen hz is 60.1, but if i upgrade to 144hz will i get better then this?, btw playing fc25 ghost of tsushima etc, also i get around 50 fps on ultra, medium and low and even ray tracing fps is the same so it might be screen issue?.

In simple words... This means that my monitor is 170hz and I have achieved over 400fps on Valorant, so the fps is not exceeded and always stays at 170hz, which is 170fps?
