Saints Row is an upcoming action-adventure video game and reboot of the Saints Row series. Developed by Volition and published by Deep Silver, it is scheduled for release on August 23, 2022 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Google Stadia. Saints Row is set in the fictional city of Santo Ileso, located in the American southwest, and based loosely on the city of Las Vegas, Nevada. Santo Ileso is currently under control of three criminal gangs: Los Panteros, a gritty vehicle and fitness-oriented gang; the Idols, an anarchist gang focused on clubs and nightlife; and Marshall Defense Industries, an international private military corporation based in Santo Ileso that is known for advanced high tech weaponry. The player-character, "The Boss", a former member of Marshall Defense Industries assembles a new gang from dissatisfied members of these gangs and to seize power from them. These new members include: Neenah, a mechanic formally with Los Panteros and serves as the gang's driver; Kevin, a DJ that was part of the Idols and handles the execution of their heists; and Eli, a business entrepreneur with an MBA that now plans the Boss's gang's activities. While this game isnt AMAZING, I was craving a random, colorful open world adventure and it does stratch that itch.

When the protagonists are unappealing and the antagonist is more worth rooting for. It's a good sign they screwed up.

Gotta love how this guy went along with the trend of hating the Forspoken trailer for the cringey dialogue, and gives this one a pass (calling it similiar to Adult Swim), despite having equally cringey (if not more) dialogue as well.

This is the 6th game like this that They have made. It does nothing to push gameplay forward. We need to expect more for our money. Not less.

Saint's Row 2 wouldn't even have a quarter of the lunacy from what I've seen in this game, in SR2 there's not even energy weapons or neon anywhere, the guns were moddled after real-life guns and the most audacious weapons there is are the pimp cane/slap, oh and there was no level-up mechanics.

How in the heck can you call this "more rooted in realism then previous Saints Row were" is beyond me.

You can't put out a review and give it an 8/10 to then lower it when you see other reviewers encountering glitches, their glitches can't add or remove points from YOUR score based on your experience. If you actually played the game you would have probably encountered the same issues if not more. This review is a bad take on the game, there were issues happening in the gameplay you never spoke about, you loved a gun but don't know its name despite it also being on the screen. A rushed video for some views on YouTube?

There's a large group of people who hate on this game.
And there's a ginormous group of people who've been with this franchise for 16/14 years, watching it shed more and more of its finer points until there's little charm left.

It's just depressing because of how much potential the series had, and it's essentially done now. This isn't going to perform well and there's never going to be another. Wish they just built on the saints row 2 formula.

Also the combat/gunplay looks so weightless, very early 2000ish~ it needs a lot of work (which unfortunately isn't going to happen).

I was hoping this game would bring a brand new start to the series but I feel this fell way short as the developer did what they wanted to do instead of what fans wanted. I loved saints row 1 and 2 was my favorite. The funny aspect and serousness of SR2 was amazing and level which made it very enjoyable. Losing carlos was very sad and draws you into the game. The online multi-player games were great which was only available in SR2. SR3 was alright but the funny aspect outweighed the serious aspect which made it fun but felt like a step down in the series. SR4 killed it as it was only whacky stuff happening and nothing serous and when something happened I could careless plus superpowers made weapons pointless and just killed everything for me. As the series went on from SR2 it tried finding its own genre of game but SR2 had its own genre and that's where it killed the series for me.
